...which is the reason it's now fenced off. I knew a girl who was a passenger in the Jeep that ran over the couple.

I mean LSU is slow to do stuff, but that death was in 1984. They put bollards around shortly after, but it wasn’t fenced off until 2021. (They put temp fence up for games starring in 2010).

Well, may be now after they demolished Kirby Smith.

I remember Kirby Smith being one of the newer dorms when I was a freshman in 1980 and kind of a desirable choice. Of course, my procrastination in my housing application put me on the 5th floor of West Stadium, the very last rooms assigned to anyone

Me and 4 of my friends shared a split room at Kirby Smith when we started LSU in 1989. It was still considered "newer" from what our naive brains could understand, but pretty sure it was build in the late 60s.

Nobody calls them "Hills," totally suspect post

One of my old professors used to call them "The mammary mounds". He referred to them as this on numerous occasions throughout the semester.

Lots of butt hurt in this thread. Should we call them the Native American Burial grounds so nobody gets their feelings hurt?

To all of the ninth-graders who post here on Tiger Droppings. Those Indian mounds are over 10,000 years old, and considered the most ancient artifacts in North America. The mounds are older than the pyramids of Egypt. Walking or sliding down them is disrespectful, would damage them severely (think dead grass, heavy rain, erosion-it's happened before), and would enforce the stereotype of "ignorant Louisiana." There are MORE IMPORTANT things in life than LSU sports. Sorry, children, there are. Now go to school and learn something. Learn ANYTHING.

You meant that for the OP, right? Learn to respond to the person you intend to call stupid. Unless you think Kirby Smith was not built in 1965.

Or maybe just call them by the correct name? I know that can be difficult for some people.

Right. The fencing is not to keep cars away. Could do that with other means. It’s to keep people off. Whether or not that’s a good idea, I don’t know.
