I'd tell them to go sick a duck! This is the wild west and until there are rules in place its every team for themselves. It really is time for the SEC and Big 10 to split and run their own mega conference. It would be like the NFL with the AFC and NFC.

Wonder if a court of law will uphold a CSC ruling that a player can’t play because a player and a 3rd party made an NIL deal the CSc didn’t like,

We can just do like other states and make it illegal for anyone to investigate.

Woodward would've preemptively suspended Lane and self-imposed a postseason ban for the next 5 years already.

F no! Why do you think the CSC is asking member schools to wave their rights to challenge rulings in court.

This is like the accounting department telling the CEO they’re putting too much on the company credit card.
More like getting on the CEO for not filling out expense reports. Payments aren't illegal, they just want to get a baseline reported.

$600 seems like a really low threshold. Need to start at something like $10k if you want compliance.

it was a bit hypothetical but yeah the CSC is literally made
to try and police the kind of deals the Supreme Court said the NCAA couldn’t stop.

I’m unfamiliar with this CSC group that literally has no authority at all.

They chose that so they can check to see if a 1099 was issued, and if not report your arse to the IRS

"The clearinghouse is supposed to determine whether or not deals have a valid business purpose and fall within a reasonable range of compensation."

If the standard is what they think is "reasonable" there should be many programs worried. Go talk to Texas about how "reasonable" 7M for Arch Manning was this past season. I'll wait...

LSU should do what THEY DIDN’T DO during the Will Wade witch hunt and tell them to kick rocks, cooperating NEVER WORKS

I bet it’s about baseball deals.

Which is going to be hard to prove the value on players from a sport that loses money.

If LSU does anything more than tell the CSC to suck their dicks then they are cooperating too much

Not reading it all but there is no way this is worse than paying a player not in classes to QB the national title game.
