Getting bashed by former players can't be good for Gilbert staying

I agree with Devin but this ain’t gonna help keep him or anyone else.

We don't want them then. You are soft, you have only won 3 games. You are not up to our standard.

But this is a bad look for Gilbert and O.

Coddling again!

Arik needs to man up and be responsible.
He could become a leader of the team for the next few years. He could lead us to another National Championship and become one of the all time great tigers.
I believe he can.

He’s gone. O saying this publicly ended Gilbert staying. You can blame whoever you want but that’s the end of it.

I get what you're saying. I want to keep him too. But I guess I enjoy for once hearing legends like Devin white and Jacob Hester call some of these quitters out.

Gilbert would be soft and then stupid if he believed Kirby can use him right. The uga o has been dog shite and stuck in the past for a long time

That’s fair and I’m not trying to let O off the hook by saying that, but coaches can only do so much to make somebody step up and lead. Obviously they missed a lot of the opportunity to build that in the offseason. There is a culture issue that the players share some responsibility in.

This board has really done a 180 on Gilbert since last night.

making public comments so gilbert gets called out as soft by fans and former players is a great strategy by O to keep him here

Too bad for Arik Gilbert. I’m more than happy to see the alumni calling these guys out. Not one of them has stepped up as a leader this year. Maybe getting some guys who paid their dues, won a championship, and are now in the NFL to light them up will help.

that as a freshman...

I mean I gotta agree. If you quit the season for being a little sore after playing 8 college games with week breaks in between how the hell do you expect to last in the NFL if that's your goal?

Absolutely one of, if not the best player on our offense.
Statistically untrue.

He represents 11% of the total yards and 8% of scores. He doesn't lead the team in any statistical category that I can see.

Plus he has no chest.

D White would put his body thru twice what Gilbert is doing, then take off from practice and take care of a horse.

Really anxious to see how all this plays out. Maybe O is unable to sustain a winning program. Would like to hear Woodward's thoughts.

We need all these old guard leaders to come back in this week and get in that arse.

Its definitely needed but it aint happening with the strict NFL/NCAA Covid guidelines.

They need Chaisson and White... and Matheiu to speak on handling adversity.

That’s where I’m at. This team since the season started has acted like it’s easy to do what LSU did last year. They need to be taught that you have to put in the work by guys who have done it before. If Arik doesn’t want to be a part of that, it will be unfortunate but this issue is cancerous and bigger than one player.
