I would love to know just how many schollies most programs are actually funding. My guess is that the majority of schools just fund 11-12 and not any more.

I don't have time to listen to the entire thing right now; will do so after work... Can anyone tell me if he mentioned Fall scrimmage schedule? I know many times they will have an open scrimmage on the Friday afternoon before home football games...

Didnt mention it.

Hes excited about every single guy we have. Team is in a better position by far than this time last year.

He thinks Paz can become THE STAR guy eventually but likely bring him on slowly early in the year.

Gonna let the Fall tell him who plays where and when. Not penciling in any lineups or roles yet.

He said fall practice/scrimmages will start October 9 and run up until right before Thanksgiving.

Fall scrimmages, both on road - Nov 2 biloxi against samford and Nov 9 against SLU in Hammond

Purple gold world series at the end of fall practice but TBD based on how fall goes whether it's 1, 2 or 3 games to wrap it up

They will have Ring Ceremony the Texas A&M football weekend Oct 25th, I would guess at PMAC before game

Will make a trip to White House TBD

Jay hired one of his former players at Arizona - Nik McClaughry - as a player development coach in addition to the one coming from Tulane

One other , guessing big reason, he turned down the job is Duke cut the salary that the previous HC was making. Too, my take, there will possibly be several SEC HC on the hot seat this season & he can afford to wait. LSU is going to continue to win big & that will just feather his resume'.

Josh Jordan would be a good fit for South Carolina should that job open next summer

A few more tidbits: CJJ said he's like Bill Belichick, who said he wants N.Carolina to be the 33rd NFL team. "I want LSU to be the 31st MLB team". Couldn't telll how serious he was, but he said that out of all the players from last year who signed, 'Cade was the one who really wanted to come back but I told him this was his time". Josh Pearson went to the same summer ball team as Ethan Frey last year with a goal of getting his body in shape to possibly play 2-3 positions. & came back on Aug.1 to work with Coach Martin to really push himself to get in great shape. "He looks really good now. We know he can hit". Asked about losing 3 infield position players, "a focus will be on finding someone to play behind Steven at SS & we have 3 new players who can fill that spot".

I hope there’s a scenario when Pearson & Yorke go yard together a couple few times, I’m copywriting the name right now-

Tanner Reaves still being on the roster is interesting. Rooting for the kid.

Looks like they elevated Ben Nippolt to a legit coaching/support staff role. Was a Graduate Assistant last year and is now the Director of Player Development- Defense.

They usually don't set the times of the scrimmages until the week of.
