Down 35-10, UGA knew LSU had to pass the ball downfield to have a shot in this game. and still couldn't defend it?
Not uncommon at all in blow out games dude

I loved his play. Did well.

I know the point of this post, but watching it I couldn't help but think about how poor our defense looked.

Yes, especially the play where he was almost sacked. I have to hand it to you though. No one can bad take like you.
It’s not really a take. It’s a fact.

Nuss is very talented.
Yes they need to work with him on cutting down the turnovers but his upside is super high. I most enjoyed that we finally let is loose and let WR's go make plays downfield. Saw a lot more big plays down the field. I love that he continues to keep his eyes downfield at all times, even with pressure and was able to find open WR's.
Just needs reps and more experience. You can say practice until you are blue in the face but there is no replacement for live game experience.

Nuss wasn't ready early in the season. He is now. Nice job developing him mentally by the staff. He looked good.

Nuss works through his progressions much better than JD, he has better pocket presence and moves better in the pocket whereas JD bails from the pocket. Obviously impossible but it would be interesting to see how many sacks Nuss would have taken seeing that he anticipates fairly well and gets rid of the ball. It always seemed like if JD could move in the pocket and buy some time instead of bailing to run, he could have avoided some sacks. Nuss is a lot more decisive throwing the football where JD is extremely passive and it almost seems like he doesn't process things fast enough. JD is a safer QB and Nuss is risk/reward.
I prefer a QB that can make plays with their arm and involve the receivers and that also makes the defense defend the entire field. Put a spy on JD and he gets really limited, especially because he will not throw the ball downfield. Nuss's limitation is that he is not a runner but I'm okay with that. I just don't like dual threat QBs as I think they can take you so far but their limitations (overall passing ability) become an issue. Look back at the past national championships and compare duel threat QBs vs pocket passers.
If Nuss stays, I'm spending the entire offseason stressing to him and working with him on his decision making and taking better care of the football.

With second string defense and I don’t recall a lot of blitz going on. Happy for Nuss he executed 100%; i think the JD decision for this season had more to do with lack of confidence in O-line which proved to hold their own.
Also to be fair he did not look that great at times in mop up duties this year.

The Naysayers on this board say Georgia was playing soft, but the reality is They Knew he was going to pass yet failed to stop him. The OC Dembrock needs to grow a pair & tell Kelly to play Nuss 2 quarters or will lose him. End of story.

He made some GREAT throws and has the potential to only get better. With Nabers, BT, Bech, Lacy, C. Hilton, and M. Taylor returning, plus incoming FR, this group can be dynamic with the right QB. They will create matchup problems all season, against any team.
I don't envy CBK in this situation. This is why you get paid to make the hard decisions, and the right decisions for the PROGRAM.

It's not like Nuss can't scramble or run. He, Walker Howard, and Collins can all move well. We know Nuss has the arm talent as well as Walker Howard. We've got to be able to get the ball down field. Our WRs are too good to play the ten yard passing game.

Is it not at least a little puzzling to you that you are alone on so many takes? It has to have crossed your mind some, no?

Every single one of those plays UGA only rushed 4 players. No blitzing, soft coverage. I like Nuss but that in no way simulates a real, live game against that defense. Please watch it again and take note of that, for whatever it might be worth to you (it should mean a lot if you know football).
You need to watch it again. Several of those plays they had a delayed blitz/spy that delayed blitzed and the come back catch by Jenkins was a blitz, 5-man rush.
They were running the same defense they ran all 1st half. The difference is that defense was designed to drop more in coverage and spy on Daniels, knowing he cant pass for shite. Nuss just picked it a part. So yes, it was in fact a real, live simulation of that defense. Just a defense catered to stop Daniels.

nuss threw for 300 yards going through progressions, being aggressive downfield and scoring 3 TD's in the 2nd half.
he wasn't ready to start the season and pressed too much. i'd say he's ready now and with more coaching and development, he can eliminate the turnovers. he needs reps with the 1s and starting the bowl game with that practice will show the coaches if he's truly progressed.

Most encouraging thing is that Nuss was throwing guys open.
Just watched the highlights of Nuss and his arm talent is off the charts but he did not throw anyone open, he wasn’t blitzed and faced mostly the same defense so there wasn’t anything for him to read…
I’m excited about his potential but we need to calm down on him being the second coming of Joe…
