Big factor in third quarter was Kentucky going into a zone due to foul trouble. We moved the ball better and rebounded the better and got some shots to fall. Great road win against a vert solid opponent

I'm glad to hear that they won it this time. What I mean about that is that they had Texas beat and let them come back and take it from them. They let Texas out play them in the second half, you can't let that happen. Gotta keep your foot on the pedal all of the time. Happy that this one didn't turn out the same way.

Maybe she trusts McKayla more on making the proper inbound pass.

That I get, you know who our second best FT shooter is? Kaylin Gilbert at 84.5%. LSU has one player shooting free throws under 50%, Day-Wilson at 47.8%. I just don't get that part. Put Gilbert in for the inbound play or set up the pass to someone else.

Maybe so, but man, I think Texas was just playing poorly early and then really in form down the stretch. They were much quicker. Not saying we can't beat them, but they are really good.

Only two losses, both on the road, vs top 5 teams. Texass and Carolina will both get #1 seeds in the NCAA.

Both were 1 possession games

Huh? LSU lead for most of the game but didn't SC end up winning by double figures?

Day-Wilson is a career 70% free throw shooter before this season. Maybe she trying to help her get her confidence back. It depends on how well she shoots them in practice. If she hits in practice but not in the game, it is probably a confidence problem. Lot of stuff involved in coaching a team and getting them ready for a championship run.

LSU lost to Carolina by 10 and Texas by 7, but the games were really closer than that.

Makayla is a top five % in the nation FT shooter. Poa is a 90% career FT shooter. Gilbert and big fo are both low 80s.

Wilson shouldn’t even be in the game when we know they will foul. We have at least four other guards that are miles better FT shooters

shite I trust Jada Richard more than Wilson to hit clutch FTs.

I have no place to question Kim. But that’s a crazy choice to throw her the ball there.

At this point she’s a go stand over there as far away as possible person in this situ.

We just beat #14 on the road and THIS is the dead horse we are beating? Geez.

Yeah. Well. I’m not wrong.

Wilson got fouled twice in the last 20 secs and made 2 of 4. Thank goodness UK didn’t come down and hit any threes.

Why does pointing that out bother you? Seriously? Don’t you want constructive criticism in your life? You think Kim gave cc to the team at half?

Some of y’all wear your vagina on your sleeve.

I was really bitching on my couch about how poorly I felt Mulkey was coaching in the 2nd quarter. They shut me up quick. Hell of a job to completely turn the momentum of the game around at half time, and then have to come back AGAIN in the 4th quarter after another 4-5 minute offensive drought. This team's ability to look incompetent for a few minutes followed immediately by looking like the best team in the country is amazing. I think it stems from the fact that we either need a 4th player to step up offensively, or we need to have the big 3 take an even larger portion of the offense than they currently do - perhaps that will free up the others like Sa'Myah and Wolf to get some easy cheap buckets.

I remember seeing a thread calling her out in 1st half… too bad I couldn’t bump that one so I’ll post this gem here

3 seed

SEC wasn’t super strong that year for any resume building like they anticipated

This season is much different. We have 5 top 25 wins, one more top 25 road game and have a great win over NC State

This team is just a decent shooting point guard from a natty

Whats interesting is Day-Wilson shot 41% from the field, 36 % from 3, and 72 % from the free throw line last year. She was known for her offense coming out of Duke.

Compared to her numbers this year-

FG% 25.2 3p% 15.7 FT % 51.7

And career wise has shot much better than this.

There is definitely something about the pressure of playing at a elite program like LSU for transfers. Van Lith had the same problem last year.

Hopefully this game can give her confidence back and she gets hot in the tournament.

Absolutely. That win aged very well. I didn't think NC State would be that great, but their post play has gotten much better and they are legit again this year.
