I agree with this, not bailing on LSU EVER and Coach O is not a bad coach, i think he is actually a great coach. But this season is not going to be pretty.

We have Harvard and Nichols transfers n the entire game. Ever seen AL, Clemson or Clemson take such great talent as transfers and put them on the field?

I think it may take another game for this talent to gel in this all-SEC schedule. The talent on this team is too good not to to be able to adapt and overcome.

We just had the greatest season of any team in history. As Biden would say...”come on man”

This is the quintessential Rant post. It needs to be framed and placed at the top of the forum.

My reactions are this

Brennan is fine if his first read is there. If not then he panics. Looked like Jarrett Lee at times. He's also doesn't trust his accuracy and short arms too many balls. He shouldn't look like that after 4 years. He's a mental wreck.

The OL benefitted from Burrow the most last year. He covered their warts with quick decisions. They were bad for a majority of the game.

The play calling wasn't bad. Receivers were open all day. Brennan just doesn't read well and/or doesn't trust his reads. I would've liked to see the running game used more in the first half but the 2nd half play calling was much better.

Ali Gaye is a stud based in today. The weak side was noticeably absent most of the game. The DTs had moments but struggled a good bit. The MSU attack didn't help that as they aren't suited to rush the passer all day

Clark and Cox are good but Pelini but them in bad spots in coverage a lot

The S played well aside from Harris blowing the tackle on Hill.

The CBs are horrendous. Ricks got better as the game went on and Ward had good moments. Flott was not good. Evans should be booted or relegated to practice squad. How anyone thinks that guy is a future NFL player is unbeknownst to me. He was throttled in the 1st half. Raymond has a ton of questions to answer tonight and this week. His guys technique was horrible today.

We are gonna have a tough season if things continue the way they did today defensively. Bama can name their number. I'm not gonna get disconcerted but it's only a game or 2 away if we play like this the next week or 2.
Pelini better man up and fix shite or he may be out after this year. Id rather we pay his buyout than let the defense continue this way.

A great amount of our fanbase is what they've always been, a bunch of pansies and crybabies that completely overreact to every play. Look to blame everyone but the actual players responsible for not doing their job. Sure they coaching wasn't great but our players were worse than any game plan we had today. Tackling and standing still while a wr runs by is not scheme. It's execution. Brennan running from ghosts is on him not the play calls.

We are the defending champs and we just got smoked by a new coach with a new QB at home with a roster full of three star players.

This is bad.
LSU is the first college football team since Notre Dame in 1968 to lose their first game home opener after winning the National Championship the previous season.

I could not believe the lack of adjustment on defense, I've seen leaches air raid offense get crushed by washington 2 years in a row. WTF was Pelini doing??

D-line looks better than expected. Moo St had to hold like crazy to protect Costello who also was excellent at evading tacklers.
Secondary looks much much much worse
Linebackers can’t tackle.
O-line is much worse than advertised despite being one of the position groups with the most experience.
Brennan has no touch on his passes, poor downfield vision, and very little pocket awareness. He improved as the game went on, especially with his foot work, but he still struggled to find the open receivers downfield.
WR were a mixed bag. On one hand, they got open regularly downfield, but they also had a few bad drops.
RB’s were not impressive and failed big time in multiple short yardage situations.
Kickers were solid.
Punting was good, but a couple punts lacked air time which could be of some concern going forward.
Special Team Return game didn’t get to do much as Miss St rarely punted and their kickoff specialist managed to boot the ball deep in the endzone on every kickoff.
Special teams fielding: looked decent at preventing long returns

This season was going to be odd no matter how it shakes out. I’m excited to see some younger guys get to play and get ready for next year. My expectations were not super high to begin with, but they are substantially lower now.

This season should be focused on (1) developing young talent and (2) finding an OC

Brennan was horrible. The defense was mediocre. We are screwed.

Greatest season of all time on the backs of Brady, Aranda, and Burrow.

Ed O is Gene Czezik. He always has been and he always will be. He doesn’t even realize how or why his team was good last year.

This has been a problem for years.

Burrow and Clyde masked a lot of deficiencies on the OL last year just like in 18.

I have changed my mind on this COVID deal. These young men should not be put at risk. I call on the SEC to cancel the rest of the season without delay.
