. Yall just aren't near the program LSU is and never will be. It's not a slap in the face to your program, it's just the truth. You see how big of a deal it is for your team to beat LSU in a midweek baseball game? Lol, how do you think LSU reacts when we beat SLU? We act as if it should happen, bc it should and usually does with a remote possibility of losing, like tonight.

What is your point here? Do you think any Southeastern fans think their program is on par with LSU's?

Meh... We will beat them per usual at the Box in June

Don't be surprised when we end up playing them at home in a regional this year

No, nobody in the state (except some ULL fans in Lafayette), even in Hammond, thinks SLU is on the same level as LSU. Six national championships are nothing to scoff at. I like the improvements SLU have been making in the past few years to be competitive.

Still, I like both schools. I hope they both make the tournament again. Hell, I was stoked a couple years back when Louisiana sent five schools to the tournament. That's impressive and shows that we have universities that can be competitive with our in-state baseball talent as well as recruit out of state talent.

Hey, some of these "small state schools" play some darned good baseball. Saw that tonight with SELA. Have a nice ballpark too. First class.

What can I say, it's a game young men play in the spring. It's baseball.

I mean having a win or two against a top 50 RPI team can’t hurt, and that’s exactly where SLU has been the last few seasons. I don’t see how a win doesn’t help LSU. It damn wel does more than beating Toledo and Sacred Heart this weekend will.

Actually Koestler is their midweek guy. He got the start on Sundays last season only due to injuries. He will no doubt work his way into the weekend rotation as he has some stuff.

That guy has never started on a Friday or Saturday ever in his career at Southeastern. Ronnie Rantz or whoever said that was wrong. Y'all made him look like a weekend starter though.

These games are not about winning to LSU. They are about team building.

really? The only reason SLU is Top 50 is because they play a hard schedule early. Win or lose it boosts SLU’s RPI. Hell McNeese was a Top 50 RPI last year. Every team in the SEC is likely a Top 50 RPI team with 3-5 being Top 5 every year. It shows why in the regionals and Supers every year.
So no, it doesn’t help. If LSU doesn’t schedule SLU,

The only reason to play the game is to practice and give a good look at players that will be needed down the stretch. Smith, Watson, Labas and others out, this is a good way to gain some experience for this young team.

Those Jordan boys will not likely sniff the field on weekends except maybe in a DH role. That’s the reality of playing here. Do you think Bain is going to DH or be a regular player? Broussard and Hunter are the regulars. Slaughter and Smith will be fighting for PTat third those 2 continue to play like that.

You mean you actually don't want to dominate all the in-state schools? What a cute little lollipop you are.

I disagree. Their are actually plenty of SLU fans that honestly believe that they are on the same level as LSU in all sports with baseball being the closest! It’s pathetic!

Darrell Wallace once lost a NASCAR race to journeyman Brett Bodine. Scoring was mixed up, and Waltrip was actually robbed of the win.

By the time they realized Waltrip really won, Bodine and his crew were celebrating like crazy.

Waltrip complained to the head man, Bill France, who asked how many races he had won. "About 50," Waltrip said. France pointed to the celebrating group and said, "That boy ain't never won nothing. Let him have his fun."
