Actually after seeing how the season played out, it looks like we would’ve still missed out on the SEC CG even with a win @ Florida.

6-2 Tennessee would’ve won the Tie breaker between LSU & UGA based on their 2-0 record vs Florida & Alabama

That looks correct to me. I think the OU/Bama and Florida/Ole Miss upsets probably weren’t being factored in at the time that people were still looking at scenarios.

In the hunt, sure I guess, but we’d get left out like SCAR and Ole Miss will. If anything it would actually bring clarity to the playoff question—we beat SCAR and Ole Miss but lost to Bama, and all four teams are 9-3, so they’d just put Bama in.

Had we beaten Bama though? Not just in the hunt, we’re in.

Beat Florida and we make the SEC CG so yes. Beat Florida and play Bama close and we're in consideration for an at large. It would be interesting to see if the committee would penalize us if we went on to lose the SEC CG. The USC game was completely irrelevant and doesn't matter. Not sure why so many people object to playing these OOC games so early in the season when they have 0 impact on the outcome

This team would be an embarrassment in the playoffs.

Really? Of the top 15 teams which ones do you believe played consistently all season that you would believe would embarass LSU. Sure, the Tigers could play poorly and Nussmeier throws three picks, but so could almost all other teams. LSU would be favored over several teams and other games would be similar to the Ole Miss game with someone winning a close one.

I don’t see how LSU would jump Bama with the head to head blowout loss against them.

ummm, unless I'm wrong, wouldn't they be playing this weekend with an automatic bid on the line, if they had beaten Florida?

Nussmeier

you are eaten up with him....and NEVER mention that most of his pics (and sure he had a few he shouldn't have thrown as a gun slinger trying to force things) were due to the fact that once our LG got injured, the middle of the OL was pathetic, and A&M in the second half, Alabama, and Florida all targeted the middle and blew up play after play, with Nuss having no time. It is one thing with pressure coming on the edges, he can step up. You can't step up when all the pressure is coming up the middle....and yet we have some idiots still saying that against Florida he had a clean pocket most of the night...despite the fact that he had a total of 2 sacks through 7 games, until our LG got injured. It is a joke.

To answer this question though, no, LSU played as good of a schedule that they would be in any game, if healthy on the interior of the OL.

Yea with the tie breaker system the 4th tie breaker was conference opponent winning percentage and we had the highest. With Bama’s Oklahoma loss if we beat Florida Vandy and Oklahoma we were in the SEC Championship game. At least that’s how I heard it.
Yep, with UGA beating Tennessee and PU beating Bama, had LSU beat UF they would be paying in the SEC Champ Game this weekend

Voters are more “what have you done for me lately”. Those three losses at the end of the season would be hard to overcome.

Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda, but we didn't.
and IF we did, we still would be behind Bama on getting in due to head up matchup.

CFP dream was over after that loss bud.

No doubt! Any given Saturday in the SEC and especially on the road at night....and with NIL & the portal, it is not going to change.
Get use to seeing anywhere from 10-2 to 8-4 IMO, with the better record when team talent really aligns, you don't have major injuries, and you have a little luck.

Only Bama has a legit chance at this point

Would be so absurd. Losing to Oklahoma in late November and Vandy period, combined with a third loss should be auto disqualification, especially with no SECG appearance much less victory.
