it is pretty close.....Defense no doubt FLA is way better top to bottom...Offense and special teams Nope.

especially at QB, WR, and O-Line TX has big advantages there. RB is a wash though.

There's one area Florida is Top 10: Luck, according to TeamRankings.com.

Team Rankings

They are #9 in luck, just ahead of #10 in luck Baylor. They are way higher in luck than any other top 10 team.

For anyone who doubts this, they were lucky to survive a game with five lead changes against 2-3 Miami, and they might have lost to Kentucky like last year had it not been for the Wildcats missing that critical fourth quarter field goal.

Guess what, their luck runs out this Saturday.

It's better defensively...not as good offensively.

Vegas is begging people to bet on Florida. That typically bodes well for the favorite.

Yeap, whenever you hear anyone who doesn't bet say "easy money" bet the opposite of them.

IMO too many people jumped on the "LSU defense sucks this year" bandwagon, and didn't give Ehlinger and Texas' offense enough credit. They adjusted very well at the line and made some great plays, while taking what the defense gave them. I don't think a much less experienced Trask has the same ability to adjust and move the ball. Florida's D will be a bigger challenge, but I think LSU wins it comfortably.

You know what they say; luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

Well coached teams will be luckier than poorly coached ones.

Texas has a decent front 7 but secondaries aren’t even comparable. Florida way better.
That sums it up.

At texas is a tougher game than uf at home imo. The two teams are hard to compare because the swot analysis would be polar opposites probably.

Texas is banged up in the secondary. LSU played them at full strength

Critical field goal yet we won by 8? Guess our missed chip shot field goal doesn't fit into the equation? I'll agree that we did squeak by Miami. Horrible turnovers, suspensions, bad tackling, etc.

Personally, I'd take Texas on a neutral field...

IDK, would be a good game though for sure... i think they are both very even...

Vegas says Florida would be a 1-point favorite vs. Texas on a neutral field

That's an awesome site. That is one reason why I thought both Auburn and Florida were overrated, but it's great to actually see it quantified.

Yeah, sometimes, and other times luck is just luck.

I hate it when people say the transitive property does not work in football...

...but that’s exactly how people base the polls....by looking at your wins and losses and how your team looked against other teams...

So....yeah. The transitive property works here...

But their defense isn’t better than LSU’s.

Gators would win this game comfortably at home and I’d still pick em at Texas simply bc they would dominate both sides of the LOS and like often we see when that happens, it can make a high octane spread offense look completely out of sorts.

home field

Home field, CBS night game and the best uniform combo possible didn't do jack for LSU vs Bama last year.

Fortunately Florida is no Bama.

About the same caliber of opponent, just have different strengths.
