Dude threw 50 passes in 5 quarters completing 38. I would say he can throw it really good. Just needs to throw to the middle of the field more. Had at least 6 drops so almost 90%, dude is playing lights out.

I had a bama fan say we had JJ back at QB with JD. I told him the only thing they have in common is color.

He reminds me of Dennis Dixon from Oregon.

I agree, you see him go through progressions when he has a clean pocket. He gives that up when he starts feeling a little bit of pressure and he goes to one read and he is ready to flee the pocket. Has to be better at staying in, maneuvering the pocket and delivering the ball to beat the good teams. I liked how he fled the pocket last night on one play and instead of just running he looked downfield and completed a ball fit a first down. Also, we got to see tonight why he’s the starter, Nussmeier is a turnover machine because he’s not disciplined enough to just throw the ball away.

To everyone saying he takes a lot of hits, I just don’t see it. He seems to understand that he isn’t Tebow or Cam. His runs are almost always into space where his speed allows him to take what is available before sliding or getting to the sideline. Has he really been hit on a scramble yet?

think Daniels looks better throwing the ball. Hurts was good but he never seemed natural throwing the ball.

Hurts was elite, he starts in the NFL

He’s responding to all the let Nuss play so he doesn’t transfer histeria. Also, Daniel’s is a Junior.

“Openly call for the back up to leave” Its a fan forum. I don’t think it’s going to impact any decisions. And who gives a damn if he does transfer? He isn’t going to do it mid season.

You’re not real clear on the whole reality thing, are you?

He's shown he can do it against a prevent defense and Southern. Next week will be a big test.

Some of you keep going back to the same old straw man. FSU wasn’t in prevent on the first tempo drive in the 3rd quarter. They weren’t in prevent at any point on the next to last drive. They played off, but that’s not anything close to fricking prevent. They were only in prevent for a handful of plays on the last drive and ditched it after we crossed midfield because it wasn’t working.

Daniels wasn’t seeing the field for most of the first half of the FSU game and he did fall back to just relying on his legs. But once Denbrock adjusted and started using tempo, he settled down and played a lot better. Not perfect, but he was good enough to win ballgames on those last two drives.

The staff came out looking to get him in that same kind of groove early against Southern, and that’s good. We need them to set him up to get some confidence and settle in early. It was about the third drive of his game where he really started looking comfortable last night. That’s damn sure better than the mid 3rd quarter, but now they have to find a way to get him there from the first snap.

Hardly. But he’s better than Pickmeier. By a lot.

I really liked the throw on the move to Bech. Thought he was going to try to run it and then pulled up and let it fly. Like I said it was good on many levels when he threw that pass on that play.

Needs to improve his ability to read defenses and find the #2 and #3 options.Currently he's a 1 read and run QB, he's got a unique skill set that can be deadly. I'm hoping he continues to get better.

That was Jalens problem. Alabama had 4 1st round receivers when he was playing.

I feel better about him than I did about this team's QB leadership acumen since Burrow, but I don't yet appreciate whether he will crack the top 20 of historic LSU QBs. If he stays both seasons and the staff coaches him up as well as their abilities are claimed to be, then this could an exciting time.

That’s fan-casting. Nuss never has even hinted he was considering transferring.

I have no issue bashing players. I have zero sympathy for any of them. Welcome to the real world.

But from a strategic standpoint, wanting him gone is dumb.

I understand that has no effect on anything. This is a message board. Nothing we say has an effect yet here we are.

He’s a senior with a Covid year left if he wants it.

He’s our QB. I think we can win with him.

Jalen never won a natty. Will we have a backup for the second half?

You’re not real clear on the whole “depth” thing are you?

We only have three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, one is a senior who runs and takes a lot of hits, and you openly call for the backup to leave?

That’s a shite take if I ever saw one.

Agreed but the gap is greater than we thought

He’s a much better athlete and thrower than Hurts
