I think he will go down as the most hated former LSU coach, and it may not be close.

You can only say this if you overlook 1/9…and that’s a LOT to overlook.

I think Kelly is worse, much worse. He had a unique contempt that came through every time he opened his mouth.

Dinardo was hated at the end pretty badly as well. The players and staff had a near internal revolt.

He won a national title and played for another one. How is the ceiling low?

Seriously asking, when is the last time Les has been seen?
I wish we’d come to good terms too in his older years and haven’t seen him on any TV appearance or update on how he’s doing (minus legal battle)

He was starting to lose his faculties a bit when he was still coaching, I don't think he's doing very well in that department at all. Not that I've heard anything specifically on that but I've heard generalities.

Totally ridiculous. Miles accomplished more at LSU than any coach in our history.
Les Miles was named LSU’s 32nd head football coach on Jan. 3, 2005, and his impact with the program was immediate as he directed the Tigers to an 11-2 mark in his first year. The 2005 season served as the starting point for what became the best 10-year stretch of football in school history, one that saw the Tigers win more games than any other school in the SEC during that span. Miles holds the distinction of being the only coach in SEC history to win at least 11 games five times during his first seven years in the league.
He’s also won 42 games against top-25 teams and 16 against teams in the top 10. That is almost 30% of the games LSU played while he was coach!
He did not adapt, and that was his downfall.
But he was a phenomenal recruiter and was one of the best coaches during his prime.

He did many, many times, but every coach not named Saban has on a regular basis.

The man was a friggen' genius! I had no idea the word 'want" could even be used as a noun until he brought it into the limelight. And then there was the Florida game where he went for it on 4th down like a dozen times. The man invented the whole analytics craze that other coaches are just getting into now. Urban Meyer was so flustered after that game he couldn't even get a coherent sentence out of his mouth.

Les saying R-Kansas really pissed Arkansas off because McFadden made reference to it in his "we got that wood" postgame interview.

I’ll never forget him immediately yelling for a timeout after we just picked a ball off at Arizona State
IIRC the season prior changed the rule so the clock kept running on a turnover then they changed it back the season this happened.
ETA: I always liked Les, although I was ready for him to be fired when he was. However, my best friend since 1st grade loathed Les from day 1. He died the week before Les was fired and I like to think he was responsible for it.
With that said, I agree with others who say we need to break bread with Les and welcome him back in some capacity. If Saban wasn't at Alabama when Les was LSU would have 3 more national championships.

Can't forget the Tennessee game ending where we were on the 1-yard line with seconds to go and Les just knew Tennessee would have 13 men on the field ........... we lost, then we won, then we just looked back in amazement at the mastery of Les Miles.
T-Bob Hebert centered the ball before the clock ran out and it went like 20 yards down the field. I just remember they interviewed a drunk LSU fan after the game. He said he had to pee and when the ball went flying over the quarterback's head, he ran to the Porta-Potty and when he came out, LSU had won, he said it must have been some kind of magic Porta Potty!

Les Miles’ national championship occurred only because the planets aligned late in the night on that Hawaii game.
