Im aware that the rule isn’t the same. I’m pointing out why it’s inconsistent and is a bad rule. It’s either where the ball is in the air or it’s not. Having it be that way sometimes but not other times is dumb. But baseball is full of random rules so I guess I’ll just shut up and deal with it.
