Correct, way too hypoberlic both ways. All we can say at this point is we are avoiding bad losses. Which i guess is good. But as a few have been saying, this defense is just not that good, we’ll get abused on that side of the ball occasionally

I like Tamba but at 6-6, 210lbs he’s gonna have a hard time vs SEC 4s. IMO ideally he’s a 6th man type guy. He’s not awful on offense skill wise but he gets lost at times. I like King too, I wish we saw more of he and Carter, especially in a game like tonight.

It definitely wasn't a great win, but it's good that they fought back to win. Joseph and Horne played out of their minds, but LSU figured out how to neutralize them. It shouldn't have been this close, but it is a good win, since they had to overcome an opponent that was playing with great confidence.

Carter is way too passive. I don't think he helps much. I think Tamba is athletic enough to play the 4, but we'll see. I think the rotation is settling out to be Sutton, Thomas, McKinnon, Tamba, Nwoko, Reece, King, and Miller, in order of the minutes they'll get. Nwoko would get more if he could play without fouling.

Going to check back in when they are 16-12 at the end of February

All the Pump Nuts are "Giddy with delight and Squirming in their Panties" with the big win against powerful Prairie View of the SWAC. Did PV bring their Basketball Pep Band in for the game? PV is only an hour or so west of Houston. (Love SWAC bands!) Hey, all you McMA's please come back and check in about half way through the SEC schedule.

Great win?
More like back to the drawing board and the looming tough SEC schedule.

I wouldn’t call it a great win, but what a loss for all the McHaters. They were all licking their chops
They’re gonna be so mad when LSU makes the NCAAT
Well, we only need to go 500 in SEC play.

It's great that LSU didn't lose. But this performance raises a LOT of red flags for this team headed into conference play in a couple of weeks. Especially on defense.

They have beat one decent team , might wanna slow your roll.

PV win and you excited This team is a bottom feeder in the SEC. Shouldn’t have been close at home. No hope with MM. Bad hire.

Another non LSU fan
Look in the mirror dude.
Sometimes the other team plays over their heads.
No. 16 UMBC defeats No. 1 Virginia in 2018,
No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast upsets No. 2 Georgetown in 2013
No. 15 Saint Peter's shocked No. 2 Kentucky in 2022
I've got news for you. Regardless of how much you bash this team and McMahon you aren't making the decision about his future, which may or may not be made after this season. So remove the wedgie from your vagina for the time being.

Exactly, and the last two games prove it. Southeastern and esp. Prairie View are rock bottom among Div I teams, yet LSU struggled mightily. I believe LSU has an excellent chance of losing to USM next Monday night-- that team lost to South Carolina in OT by 2 and to Ole Miss by only 4. Not saying it will happen but LSU may be playing from behind most of the game.

11-1 vs a dog poo schedule tells no one anything.
Especially considering we have seen this before from McNuggets when he blasted a bad ooc and then goes 2-16

When you support a guy that is 14-40 in sec play even wins over the swac are great. It’s a rare air opportunity for Mcmen to have a real win instead of a moral victory.

Sorry. Nothing about it was a "good" win. It's just good that it wasn't a loss. The offense played ok in a game that LSU apparently decided they were going to attack the rim with no brakes. 49 FT attempts has to be some sort of record (or close to it). The fact that LSU made 43 FTs is remarkable. That's good, because this isn't a good 3 point shooting team (outside of the intermittent nights McKinnon is hot). 11 TOs in high possession game is solid.
However, the horrible defense really takes away from anything LSU did offensively. PV was 318th in offense coming into the game and they basically did whatever they wanted. LSU defense has been the biggest concern all season. At best, it's been inconsistent. But this is a team that doesn't block a lot of shots, get many steals, or create turnovers. That means they MUST force opponents to take a lot of unwanted or contested shots. Simply hoping the other team misses is not sound defense. And it is defense that generally separate the good/great teams from average teams. If LSU is close to as bad defensively in SEC play as they were last night, it's a HIGH probability they won't win a single road game in the SEC. That is a death knell to any tournament hopes.
LSU is trending right now to be a really imbalanced team. That's not a good thing going into SEC play. They MUST figure out their defensive issues quickly. But I guess if you are looking for a silver lining, LSU sucked defensive against their last SWAC opponent (Alcorn) then followed up by having some of their best defensive efforts.
