STOP! Instead of bashing this team and our coach, won't you show some patience...sort of like everyone gives Beth Torrina.

Keep him on for the rest of the year so we don't have to pay this years buy out but DEMOTE him to assistant.

Our brand is taking a hit every time he coaches.

very well said... everyone wanting Wade back wants that winning feeling back, but like you said, the playing field is more equal now... now you actually need to be able to coach, and Wade has never been known as a gtreat X's and O's guy...

Stick to Pharmacy.

He has a career 70% win percentage and assuming NC State makes the tournament, he will have had NCAA tournament teams the last 9/10 years coaching

He's never been known as a great x's and o'x guy...by people who don't know x's and o's.

As to the "playing field being more equal now", such a statement relies on a fallacy....that teams/coaches weren't paying players BEFORE NIL became legal. "NIL" has existed for years. It just wasn't called NIL. It was bag men, pastors, uncles, $1,000 handshakes, etc. It's kind of like the steroid era in MLB. If PED use was commonplace throughout the league (and many have stated it was), then did a guy using really have any competitive advantage?

WW is an elite coach, but he wants to win a natty and NC State is a great spot for him

I'm sure he wants to win a national championship ANYWHERE he coaches. That's not exclusive to NC State. That's just the team he's coaching this season.

quote:

He ain’t leaving to waste a year starting over again

Once again, this is an opinion based upon antiquated logic. The landscape has changed. Every team/coach now largely "starts over again" every season. It's not like it was in 2017 when he first took the LSU job where his options were roster building were generally limited to: returning LSU players with remaining eligibility, JUCO signees, and HS signees. Now a coach can come in and literally flip the entire roster and immediately have success. It's not like he has to "build" the program over the course of a few years by stacking HC recruiting classes. But here's the thing, even if he does win big at NC State this season he's still going to have to largely "start over" for next year because he would have to put together a significantly new roster. Just about every coach will.

Basketball, more than any other college sport, is a year to year proposition. This thinking that roster building and program progression is linear like it was prior to NIL/freedom of movement is simply wrong. A coach has to build a largely new roster in 2-3 months, win with it that season, then build a largely new roster in at the end of the season and do it all over again.

His buyout is around 19 million and his current salary is about 6 million a year.

Is that his buyout for him to leave or if they fire him?

Why doesn’t Chicken make a McMahon and a Kiffin board? The McMahon and LSU-Ole Miss dueling Kiffin posts are annoying. Some of the content is fun to read but there’s too much of it.

That's what OM would owe if they fired him. His buyout for leaving would be $4.5M before April 12th. $3.5M after.

That’s right. His actual buyout for leaving is only 4.5 million.

look, the guy is sufficient in terms of in game adjustments... but i stand by what i said... i said he wasn't "great".... not sure why some of y'all took that to mean me saying he's dogshit at the gameplanning part of basketball...

bruh, i'm WELL aware of how it used to go before NIL... but having it above board, at least a majority of it anyway, b/c there's still under the table deals, sets a clear market and valuation... so other teams can budget for those same players, and talent is being much more even distributed, for the most part.... let's not act like it's not...

look, i get people waning Wade... i really do...it was good and getting better when he was here, but personally, getting Wade feels like settling... we need to swing for the fricking fences like we did with Kiffin, Mulkey, and Johnson...
