Better than Hooker?

better value because he's almost 5 years younger and Hooker is likely all of spring and maybe even most of the preseason recovering from his injury

Harris was the savior of lsu . Remember?

I hope like hell he stays and he’s great. But I’m not going to say he’s a better option than Daniels at this point. I think that’s crazy and the definition of insanity considering what we’ve seen.

I was told by the geniuses on here that he had no chance of being drafted. This place is a bastion of intelligence

Well, that list is as shady as that greasy used car salesman Kiper is. Levis at 1? 4 maybe, Hendon at 6? Top 3, Richardson at 4? Lucky to be top 10

he's lighter on his feet, and a more elusive runner than Lamar

based on what? Lamar's college play tells a different story

Lamar Jackson ran a 4.34 at his pro day (he didn't run the 40 at the combine). Very doubtful he's faster than Lamar Jackson. Jackson was one of the fastest players in college football at any position.

Tim Tebow started for nearly 2 years.

no he didn't, and Jayden Daniels is not Tim Tebow

By that he might actually decide to Declare for the Draft then.

Tebow didn't even start a full season.

After he threw the walkoff touchdown against Pitt and then lost to the Patriots he didn't even start the next season.

This is about where I would expect someone like Mel to rate him. I think Hooker and Richardson should be flip flopped but it shows how much the NFL is drafting based on potential the last couple of years.

JD should go before he gets a serious injury imo. He’s got a lot of upside if he gets comfortable throwing into tighter windows.

Hooker was a Mature leader at 37yrs old, QBing in a scheme offense. No QB from the Frost/Huepel tenor has done diddly pooh in NFL or transferring to different school, I’m not saying JD is better but I sure hope some team takes a flyer on JD. I think that Daniels was great but platooned or peaked, and LSU will be better for the future with Nuss & Howard. You don’t have to hate on our QB room of JD,Nuss, or Howard to get a point across.

He had a very late breakout age, which will always spook NFL teams… he turns 25 next month.

In the back of every GM’s mind is going to be the question of whether he’s a legit starting talent at the next level or if he’s just been successful because he has 4 years of extra experience over the defense.

He has the physical ability and he's shown that he takes care of the ball. I think some NFL coaches can help teach when to take more chances. The more I think about it, the less surprised I am.

I don't this matters at all for QBs. They can play into their mid-late 30s.

Now for RBs, it's a far different story. Their lifespan is limited, so age can seriously matter for RBs.

But not QBs.

WalterFootball also has Daniels ranked highly at 6th best QB prospect in this draft.
