I felt like we lost the Texas series because Jay was going for the sweep by not using our best relievers in game 2. MState does not appear to be as strong as Texas, but are throwing their ace in game 2. Different scenario.
I think we take game1 tonight. It will be interesting to see how Jay handles our relievers. Also, this is a huge weekend for Eyanson. He knows who he is paired with.
I think we take 2 out of 3.

He struck out 4 times in 7-ABs against Texas. Didn't he strike out last nite? He's in a slump. Get Pearson in there
Brown was 2 for 9 with 2 RBIs against Texas. No need to make shite up.
Pearson was 1 for 9, HBP, BB, SF. He went to the plate 5 times with runners in scoring position and never got a base hit. His best at bat was a sac fly. By comparison, Brown had 4 chances with runners in scoring position and went 2 for 4. One of these guys gets called clutch, and the board calls for the other to get benched.

He made two in what back to back innings. Don’t recall milam doing that lol
Brown made an error at 1B, a position he never plays.

This series is a seasonal pivot point for this year's team. It's time to put up or shut up, after last week's dismal effort

Too early for all of that talk. We started 3-12 last year and were a couple outs away from hosting a super regional.

Brown was also the only guy who hit that lefty reliever. Took a great play in left to prevent at least a double.

I mean in this past 4 game stretch. Brown is 2-12 with 5Ks, and it doesn't take a genius to see he's pressing at the plate. I'm claiming Brown would sit vs Pico, but obviously since Siary is throwing today Brown may get the nod as LHH.

You could start Pearson in RF and Reaves at DH.

Reaves at DH.
Reaves has not been good vs LHP this season, although in very limited ABs since we have an effective platoon. I think it'll go Pearson DH at the 4, Brown RF at 6, and Reaves 3B at 8.

Wrong - in this same spot last year, he pitched Coleman and moved Hurd to midweek.
Well Jay Johnson has said that they are keeping the rotation the same this weekend, so I'm not sure how that is relevant

MState does not appear to be as strong as Texas

I wasn't even wrong
He also doesn't know wtf he's talking about because Hurd was our Sunday guy against Florida and his next pitching outing was out of the pen against Arky... aka not midweek

MSU ace has been really good so look for a low scoring game 1
State is starting their Ace in game 2. They are starting a reliever for game 1

My prediction:
State scores first, half the Rant melts down when we're down by 1 or 2 runs. We then win 2/3, possibly all 3.

If I made the lineup Frey would DH tonight. He has been hot. Reaves would play 3B but JJ is partial to Buntswell in SEC play. Brown over JP in RF.

Frey does need to get more AB vs RHP soon. He's so close to being an everyday DH.

4 games isn't much of a snapshot to call it a slump like you did.
This is what a slump looks like, and it isn't Brown.
2-11 in his last 5 games (.181 BA)
3-18 in 6 SEC games (.167 BA)
8-31 in his last 13 games (.258 BA)

But why?
If you can get two of these guys in the lineup, who do you want?
Player 1
.316 BA SEC
.373 BA season
Player 2
.667 BA SEC (only 3 ABs)
.371 BA season
Player 3
.167 BA SEC
.301 BA season
