But Pirate King and others said it was a family request to not only redshirt him but to save the last game he could play for someone other than Alabama.

So who’s parents are going to bring the orange slices for post game snacks this week, since this program is being run like a damn YMCA after school athletic program.

This dude ain’t content to send the Titanic to the bottom of the ocean. Now he’s lightning it on fire as he rows away in a million dollar lifeboat.

It was Nuss dad that told O not to burn the redshirt
If I was Nuss I would want to get some film on tape for the next staff

EVERYONE watching the game on Saturday knew if LSU could get just one spark at the QB spot in the second half they could have won the game. The rest of the team, who were playing their asses off, deserved to see the coaches at least give them HOPE something could change. Instead, LSU just died a slow, agonizing death, waiting on a QB to make a big play he just wasn't going to be able to make.

lemme ask yall a question, does Lincon Riley make the QB change in the second half of that game? does Saban? THATS what seperates the great college coaches in todays game.

No matter what happened, don’t tell the fricking media that his dad called so now he’s playing. What the literal frick I can’t even comprehend how stupid this is.

It will completely undermine the man with the rest of the team is the worse part of it. They think he got his chance not through effort. I agree, totally dumb.

why Orgeron would publicly say the part about Nussmeier's dad calling Peetz...

For all you Karens who cant read the room. This is not what is going on. The [;amn was to redshirt Nuss, which is what had been discussed with the family. O wasn't going to burn it without the approval from the family. For example Saban got the Ok from Travis Daniels's parents to burn his redshirt late in 2001 for the SEC Championship game in 2001. For those of you to young to remember. Doug was just calling Peetz to let him know that Garrett didn't care about the RS anymore and was ready and wanting to play if warranted.

I think the initial decision to RS Garrett goes back to when they thought Myles would be available. IMO Max's days as Starter are over Nuss is way better.

Not the type of conflict that needs to be in public.

Who's running LSU's PR Comms department, Bagdad Bob?

Its amazing knowing he's gone and he's still making the same mistakes that got him fired in the first place.

Everyone watching that game knew we had to make a change at QB at halftime. We only put together ONE decent drive the entire 1st half among 6 chances. Our punter had more passing yards than Max at halftime.

They didnt make the move, we end up with only 7 more points in the 2nd half and a laundry list of more mistakes from the QB not making any change.

Just baffling.

What O said after the game was that he didn’t want to burn the redshirt for a few snaps (which wouldn’t have burned it anyway). Then everyone that rushed to his defense said he couldn’t play any more without burning it, that it was a family request not to play, etc.

but Nuss could have played saturday and kept the RS, no?

I get not wanting to throw Nuss out there if we were getting our asses whipped, nothing good comes of that experience....but circumstances change and we were in that game just lacking adequate QB play. You go to Nuss at some point in that game and ask him if he wants a shot to provide a spark to the offense oh and make history.

So first his Dad told O he was going to redshirt and now he's telling him he's not going to redshirt. Keep on ranting rant.

If this was all about Nuss and family giving the greenlight that all were OK with now burning his redshirt, that message was extremely poorly delivered by Orgeron. Which isn't surprising.
