Yes, they will tell him take the analyst position at the same salary or let him out his contract. Ole Miss is all about making Lane look like a fool. They don't give a damn about the East Carolina OC, if they could get Weis back.

BTW, where is Weis today? Keep an eye on him.

I hope the report that Ole Miss plans to change all of LSU's coaches are correct. That's our only hope of getting these coaches working for LSU, where they should be.

You are a fricking idiot.

All of their new coaches would tell Keith Carter to go frick himself and demand their full buyouts for breach of contract. Not one of them would accept staying there to be an analyst. I don’t even understand how you can think this is a real scenario. They would have to buy every one of them out, on top of buying out and repaying Weiss or any others.

John Davis Baker is contracted for $1 mil/year. He probably has a 3 or 4 year deal at 70% buyout. That’s $2.1 mil down a toilet for absolutely nothing just to screw over one guy? And that’s just one of the coaches in question that would have to be bought out in this scenario. But just retaining Weiss could set them back over $5 mil buying him out both ways. Just to get him, not pay him going forward.

Do you think their boosters would be on
board for this when they are losing a ton of talent that has to be replaced through the portal? That takes a lot of money- their money. They aren’t going to waste any on your fever dream.

They already hired new coaches, including a new OC

Didn’t Weis already sign a contract with LSU?

Have you ever heard the saying’contracts are made to be broken’? I hate this crap. This situation is hurting LSU portal situation.

Have you ever heard of a buyout? Those don’t just magically disappear.

That doesn’t seem to matter to the people melting in this thread. Ole Myth will just make them all analysts, pay millions in buyouts, and everyone will live happily ever after.

Best case scenario is they all come back and OM has to find replacements and shite the bed against Miami. The melt would be glorious

The coaches are under contract with buyouts in place. If Ole Miss really wants to keep them they can, just pay the buyouts.

Oh, and pay the buyouts of all of their new staff since they’re apparently firing all of them.

No big deal.

There is a whole lot of idiotic takes in response to what you posted. Many cannot even understand that the plan is for Ole Miss to replace the coaches coming to LSU, not for LSU to replace those coaches because they stay at Ole Miss.

Or let him out? I dont want to name call, but man this is stupid

Ole miss cant “let him out” of a contract. They either honor it, or get raked in civil court… X6 if they do it to all coaches

Their money is finite

They already have replacements, but none of them have coached a down there this season.

I can see the position coaches leaving, but that will still be a difficult adjustment on the fly over one week. Many of them haven’t worked together and they haven’t worked in-game with Judge and Weiss.

If Weiss left they would be fricked. Judge could call their offense since he’s been there, but asking Baker to just side into the booth cold for a playoff game would be asking for disaster.

This level of idiocy deserves name-calling, man.

Lighting $5 mil on fire for Weiss just to screw over Kiffin when over half of their offensive production is about to head off to the NFL would be some straight jacket-level decision making.

ETA- I forgot we bumped Weiss contract up to $7.5 mil over 3 years. after Ole Myth took another run at him. His buyout assuming it’s 70% would actually be $5.25 mil by itself. That would likely be around $7.3 mil total to buy out Weiss’ current deal at LSU and to make Baker go away having not coached a down there.
