That David Folse guy also said Bianco had an offer in hand and it was near a done deal...

No one knows what they're talking about in this search.

In his first season at Arizona, he brought them to the CWS finals against Coastal Carolina. He also turned around the Nevada program in 2 years. If he is the coach, it’s a good hire. But Godwin should be #1 choice

Me too. If you look at what is under Godwin's numbers of his resume it all screams that he would get it done in Baton Rouge. But I will support whoever it is. I think it is obvious now that Woody has taken this search seriously and is trying to make the best hire he can. In the end, none of us are in the interviews so we don't really know what he sees or doesn't see from one candidate to the other.

I don't know what to think anymore. I had a "friend of a booster" tell me this morning that Vitello is still in play. FWIW, the booster said Vitello had an offer and UTe matched it yesterday. LSU countered and the ball is back in Vitello's court.

I think the booster is full of shite and no one truly knows.

He seems like a younger Paul with no connections to this part of the country at all.

Johnson’s conference record prior to this year is a little concerning. And the dude is as west coast as it gets.

Not the most inspiring hire. I know it won't happen, but I'd rather take a chance on one of the very highly regarded assistants at Vandy, Miss St, etc than hire Jay Johnson.

Go listen to him on the Top Coach podcast. Very likable, coaches hard, sharp baseball mind, has a chip on his shoulder but the right kind of chip.

I think you can find enough info to get behind this and be excited about it, but I’m curious to know what the “Vitello hasn’t proven anything!!!” faction thinks.

Only responding to this particular post because it's the first one I've seen from you to respond to.

But di you see Coach Sheets getting a national coach of the year award?

FWIW, I wasn't one of the ones shitting on your thoughts that he's a highly thought of coach in the industry.

Not a big splash hire. Rather Godwin.

He can coach hitting.

But also, say he bring Yeskie over and Aggy doesn't get him.

That's really fricking exciting for a lot of reasons.
