Wish our team could hit like A&M

Can we be done for this game though? That error was torture. I’ve seen little leaguers throw a better ball.

I’m done. Gonzaga Memphis looks more interesting.

Baffling what is happening right now.

We have 7 runs and A&M isn’t just handing all of them to us on fielding errors.

The bad thing is errors are only half of the story. There are multiple plays in every game that aren’t made, that would be made by any average defensive team, that lead to runs but aren’t errors.
This is the worst defensive team in at least 30 years and at some point you have to start sacrificing some offense to fix it because it’s costing you games.

This is fricking exhausting.

This team does NOT have the pitching nor defense to win more than 12 SEC games this year. Yes I’m saying this on 3/19 and I will stick to my guns.

I really don’t understand what Paul manieri and now jay johndon have seen in Devin Fontenot to make him the closer. The guy has not been reliable for more than a year now. Closing, stopping…doesn’t matter. Every inning he pitches is filled with baserunners .

LSU looks like a team that lost in a regional then didn’t make a regional the next two seasons. Oh wait that was Jay Johnson at Arizona.

Dare I say this: “It’s Early” LOL

Remember that time we needed 3 outs to win the Regional and Paul Mainieri left Landon Marceaux in the game while Fontenot watched from the bullpen?
Best coaching move Paul ever made.

We keep finding ways to F it up, We can not finish batters with any thrower. Somebody needs to start hurting feelings. Someone needs to start challenging these players manhood... I am truly a very optimistic LSU fan but this is hard to watch...

These games are fricking marathons.

The problem is the biggest issues aren’t fixable.
Yeah Berry to Dh would help, but Merrifield has been bad at 3rd too.
Then you look at Thompson.
He’s been insanely bad in the field but Cranfield has 2 errors in like 5 innings of work as a backup and he is significantly worse hitting.
So is there a real option for Thompson?
As to the outfield I think Dugas, Crews and DiGiacamo are it. Unless Stevenson is an absolute wiz in the field.

If I was shitting the bed at fielding like Berry, I’d have the decency to turn in my glove and accept the DH role.
I wonder what his rbi total would be if you subtracted the runs allowed from errors.

I may be wrong, but he seems to never do well on back to back appearances.

We haven’t air mailed a pick off in a while. We’re due for that.

I know there's at least two other pitchers we could've used. I just feel like we have guys we can put out there but they're not using them in the right positions. Idk if this coaching staff has a feel of where to put them which is a bit concerning. You change the lineup in one area but not another. Like Berry and Thompson have been good at the plate but they're a liability in the field. And pitching, I think we have two guys that should be starting but choose to use them in the bullpen. Like what is the coaching staff looking at?

Merrifield was all everything at 2nd. Have him play 2nd and try Doughty back at 3rd
