"The new college football landscape"...what? NIL didn't come into play until a few months before O was fired. He was a dead man walking by that point.

He didn't have the skills to navigate much other than some recruiting b/c he was always intellectually limited. That's why he never rose about DL coach/bag man in anything other than name, except when he was interim coaching USC. By the time he was fired, his DL coaching was out-dated, even.

He gets Joe Brady, god knows how and the rest of history.

I give Ensminger credit for that - he just flat out told O he was not the best guy to run the offense we needed to run to optimize our talent, but he selflessly went out and found a guy who could, and gave up a lot of his power to work with him and lend experience to implementing the scheme. LSU guy.

Ed gets credit for 1 thing only- staying out of the way.

He did that year but in a couple of the preceding years and after.....not so much.

Because once everyone left, he had no answers, he didn’t build anything, he couldn’t sustain anything and I suspect he felt slighted by the praise Aranda got and that’s why he always talked about running a 4-3 and hired that loser Pelini.

Exactly, he was a defensive line coach, a very good one who could recruit and motivate. Time eventually revealed what he was, but he caught lightening in a bottle in 2019 so thanks for that.

He gave us a great year, probably the best football year we will ever have

He also gave us 2 bad years and destroyed the roster which set up back

He was great and he was terrible

What do you think 95-IQ Orgeron contributed, exactly?

Nobody is saying O stole the job from Les. O stole the job from an actual qualified candidate to replace Les, with his PR campaign based in him promising access to media members + a convicted felon and "the binder"

Exactly. This meme that's developed where he's this symbol of pure, American machismo is hilariously sad.

What's talked about so little is the racist non leaders who created hatred towards white people and when coach O didn't kiss arse like Saban to the ignorant cowards, the team fell apart. Coach O retained his dignity and beliefs while Saban bent over for the retarded monkeys to retain his team synergy. It's amazing how little this is talked about.

It's not talked about because this is the Tiger Rant, and not the Retard Rant

So weird the defense went to total shite once Aranda left, and swamp monster spent his remaining time here chasing and promising the "Joe Brady offense"

Recruiting

That's it and that's all he can do. Maybe coach the DL but that's the extent of him. Which is why when he turned the football ops building into a modern "Animal House" shite went south quick, fast and in a hurry.

I appreciate him for having dumb luck and getting the right pieces for 2019 but that downfall was inexcusable.

Ed wants to be treated with the same revere as Nick Saban, but I’ve yet to see where Saban smashes a can against his forehead or take his shirt off on a dance floor like a fool.

He was great change of pace from Les, but proved to be a flash in the pan as a head coach. Doubt that social idiot could be much of a difference maker in today’s college football.

You can be thankful for 2019 and then also pissed for his 2 year personal downward spiral that turned the program into a .500 win percentage dumpster fire with half a roster.

I think everyone would be more grateful if O’s 2019 victory lap didn’t include torches and gasoline

Coach O’s time was bipolar like our fan base. The highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows.

competing with Bama?
winning 1 game while not being in the same ballpark as them the rest of the time is NOT competing with bama.

Ed has two 4+ touchdown losses to Alabama on his record. Miles didn't have any.

O has two shutout losses against Alabama. Miles only had 1.

but it wasn't really as a support of Miles, it was that I wanted Alleva gone first before a move was made.

Only dislike for Ed O is that he couldn't continue his success and I don't think he knew how to support his players outside of football. That and he hired Bo as his DC and the downfall started.

Thanks Ed for 2018 and 2019... damn you shite the bed in 2020 and 2021.

You’re taking a relatively small group of shitty so called fans and saying that they speak for the masses. You should think before you post.

Agree with OP. It is sad of all the disrespect that goes his way. He won a natty and has less respect than Dinardo, Archer and Hallman. Those 3 did not win anything. Coach changed the offense in his very first interim game against Missouri. Set a LSU SEC offensive record. He knew 3 handoffs were not the way to go to win any Natty. He did and I only wish he would get the respect that he deserves. For those who do not agree, to me you are not a true LSU fan and where were you when we were losing before Saban took over for those terrible years. If not for an unbelievable run of bad luck, Coach O would probably still be the coach.
