Respect for the fanbase? The fanbase and its support are a large reason he came here. So many folks think BK is hiding from the offense issues but he talked about that unsolicited with the network postgame interview chick and he talked about it later in the PC. There are so many idiots on here saying he doesnt see the problem. He sees the problem better than we do. He just isnt fixing it the way most of us want - me included.

BK stands up in front of the press for a living probably 5 days per week. He backhanded Cauble, and rightly so, for disrespecting those guys especially on the defense with that bullshite leadoff question. He was not going to let the media run roughshod over his team at that moment. I guarantee he will be asked about the offense today and I also expect he will answer it.

3 paragraphs of absolute drivel. Kelly was absolutely right in shutting down that clown. You dont gameplan and run plays the fans want. Kelly knows what our strengths and weaknesses are and we won. Our offensive gameplan worked and our offensive gameplan worked based on his views.

Well, I think he handled it poorly, the man asked a legitimate question based on facts so stand there and answer the question. It doesn’t have to be an in depth answer but address the question and move on.

Imagine busting your arse in the yard for three hours in the middle of July cutting grass, only to walk into your house when you were finished and your wife (who has been on the couch all day) to ask you why the frick you haven’t done the dishes yet

That’s exactly how I took that dumbass opening question after a game like that. Timing is everything and that clown arse reporter was in the wrong there… time and place for everything, and that wasn’t it

I lived through the McClendon, Stovall, Archer, Hallman and Dinardo years so nothing BK said was an offense to me. He is right, LSU fans and the media have become spoiled with the success of Saban, Miles and 2019. I will give him credit for saying on SEC Network this morning he handled the situation wrong and apologized to Cauble.

As time has gone on and weekend past- It was the right question at the wrong time and the question would have pissed off most reasonable people.

But yes Kelly was talking to all of us and the whole thing was insulting, from him calling us spoiled to insulting our intelligence about being able to run the football.

I agree with all this.

And I also think Kelly should apologize today. But I doubt he will.

He has apologized, just as I told y'all he would. I think he does it again at the presser.

Glad to hear.

Now let's hear from all the dumbasses who have been stumping for his behavior since Saturday night. What do y'all think now? Is he a pussy for apologizing?

Or maybe he's just a grown up who has some self awareness and apologized accordingly.

FYI

Here is what Jon Gruden and T-Bob think about Kelly's response which most of have seen already

"I thought Brian Kelly hit that out of the stadium. I loved it," Gruden said. "I mean, LSU has a whole new offensive line; everyone went to the NFL. They just beat Clemson, at Clemson. The comeback and beat Florida, whose back is against the line. I think he did a hell of a job addressing that. I wish he would have been a little more harsh, personally."

Here's what T-Bob had to say:
quote:
"Look, LSU's offense has problems. There is a time and a place for that question. Brian Kelly is one thousand percent correct. After you beat Florida, with great defense, five picks, Tiger Stadium at night, SEC win... You don't open the presser asking about the offense. It's crazy. I love that he said 'spoiled.' 'You're spoiled!"

Maybe he should have asked "what was their defense doing that was preventing this offense from staying on the field by stopping the run in it's tracks" His answer was pitiful. I disrespected the entire fan base when it is exactly what everyone has seen for most of the season including La Tech.

All he had to say is we are still a work in progress on offense with a new offensive line and that is where everything starts and ends with. If he had just said that and moved on, it would have been enough. But he acted like a little bitch. Had it not been for a 75 yard run against a tired Florida defense the rushing average would have been 2.6 yards per carry and not 4.6.

Jokes on you, my only ask was that he doesn’t apologize and stands behind what he said and he already did lol.

I'm not making $10M a year to cut the grass. I don't have 90k people watching me cut the grass. I'm not setting expectations of being the best grass-cutter in the nation. I didn't cut the lawn perfectly but fail to weed-eat at all two years ago to waste my great effort cutting the grass. That's the scrutiny BK signed up for when he entered his chosen profession. One where the benefits (particularly monetarily) are very desirable. If you don't want to have to answer tough questions, go coach 3rd grade flag football.

That said, I don't have an issue with BK's response. He can respond how he wants. But the question was fair whether he likes it or not. As for BK, he can be a horse's arse all he wants...as long as he wins. He's not my bestest buddy, nor am I asking him to be. But you can't be an a-hole and fail to reach your potential by ignoring the issues addressed in the question. Which ultimately means, for me, show it on the field. I don't give a shite how you interact with the media.

I have no problem with Cauble asking the question…that’s his job.

I also have no problem with BK getting defensive and defending his team….coaches are fiercely competitive by nature.

What I do have a problem with is BK losing his composure and attacking Cauble personally….I think that was uncalled for.

Unfortunately, the media will undoubtedly try to provoke these kinds of responses in the future.

Kelly isn't like most responsible working people. Kelly chooses to procrastinate about the failure and when given an opportunity to party or worry, he parties. "What? The offense is broken?, aww dang, we'll worry about that later, don't bother me right now, I'm dancing and doing my Cajun accent thing"

That's totally the wrong way to look at it. It would be like if you mowed your grass for 3 hours and then your wife asked you why did you leave out the middle of the yard in your mowing. That's what it was like boy. He should have been a man and owned up to everything and not lied like saying the run game is fine he could have used coach speak but instead he was scared and he lied then he told the reporter that was a stupid question basically what half of LSU fans were asking. So he was saying half of the fans were asking stupid questions when it was a right question.
