Pretty close, but the TIgers were slightly more explosive, IMO

Both were teams of destiny you knew were going to win it all early on. Maybe people didn’t see it with this Indiana team as early but I knew it the moment they won the Big 10 championship they were unstoppable. Will be the first 16-0 team ever in modern CFB.
Who wins H2H? Or are we going to pretend we need to wait for them to destroy Miami to even have this conversation? I mean that’s a forgone conclusion if there ever was one.

This Indiana team is the best coached team I’ve ever watched

It’s honestly like when they compare NBA greats to each other, different eras even though that was 2019. Indiana is a great team but hard to convince me that any team is better than our 2019 natty.

It's not comparable from a talent or competition standpoint and on top of that, they haven't even won a championship yet. They're absolutely a great team but we should see how they do against Miami's defense before we try putting them in that conversation.

They’ll have one more win so they will automatically be the greatest team of all time.

First team I’m considering as a comparison.

Definitely in the conversation but they squeaked out close wins vs Oregon & bad Penn State and Iowa teams. Also only beat Old Dominion by 13. Only played 3 ranked teams during the regular season.

Didn't realize they won a national championship already

And Oregon has gifted them points and incredible field position this game.
Get ready, because the talk will be they've matched the 15-0 LSU team and has the chance to be the first 16-0 team.

I do not want to play Indiana, that's for sure.

No matter how we think the teams stack up in terms of talent, there's no doubt that is dominating the playoffs after rolling through the regular season, just like we did. IU certainly has that "team of destiny" vibe, and it's cool that the only team the commentators think of as a comparison is the GOAT team, the 2019 LSU TIGERS!!

I think a more accurate statement is Oregon looks like 2019 OU
Posted on 1/9/26 at 8:28 pm to AMac
Do I think 2019 was the best football team ever? Yes. However, other schools are allowed to have great teams. It’s not some huge stain on LSU’s honor to mention a team that will probably be 16-0 natty champs, and whipped everyone’s arse along the way, in the same breath.

2019 Tigers would beat the Indiana team by 21 at least. It would be a joke

Better claim than 2020 bama for sure. They aren’t even top 5.
