I care. A lot.

I was in the Bengal Brass Basketball Band in the 80s. It was a lot of fun to go to games, often more fun than football games. Going to a tournament game (other than a first round blowout) is even better. I was there the night they honored Pete Maravich, likely the only time he ever set foot in the then Assembly Center. I was there when we beat Vandy in the first round of the SEC Tournament less than a week after Don Redden died. I was there for the win over UNLV where Chris Jackson saved the ball from out-of-bounds and got it to Ricky Blanton in the corner. I was in the Dome for the win over Georgetown.

So, yeah, good college basketball is great and LSU is crapping all over its heritage being so bad and excusing it with "It's just something to fill the time before baseball".

Like football and baseball. Enjoy volleyball, track and girls bb. Men’s bb is a non factor in my life!

I can't help but think that if another Shaq or Tyrus walked in the door you'd be a little more enthused. I know I would.

The way it's played, it's a terrible sport. I'm not interested in it at all.

anyone else on here that really doesn’t give a shite about LSU basketball in the grand scheme of things especially when we have all of these other amazing sports that are successful and basketball is just a woke sport that has been crammed down our throats for years just like the NBA?
wow. Just wow. This is an unbelievably obnoxious post, and ignorant to boot.

basketball ranks a distant 3rd behind baseball and football for me personally.

Yeah to be honest basketball isn’t in the same galaxy as football and baseball.

I’ve said forever that baseball is my favorite sport to watch, football is my favorite event to attend. Basketball is fun when the team is good, I love being in a rockin pmac, but if I had to pick one of the big 3 to suck I’d pick basketball every time.

Yep. I can honestly care less about basketball in all forms. Especially with today’s rules. Soft players, can travel all over the court, etc. It takes the least amount of talent to succeed at this sport. Be tall and throw a ball into a rim.

When Will Wade comes back and brings LSU on the cusp of greatness once again I will give a care. The Matt McMahon regime is 4 seasons in and w little to no upward trajectory. The conference record is atrocious. At some point you have to move on..... We need better players and also players that will stay healthy for a season. I'm ready to move on..... Amazingly the administration is treating Men's basketball like Women's volleyball. Both sports would fill up the PMAC if they were competitive year in and year out.

As someone who watched LSU basketball in the 80s-early 90s I absolutely, 100%, without a doubt want to experience what we as LSU basketball fans did then. It does matter to me.

In the 80s you had some good years of LSU football. But the constant was that LSU basketball was going to be competitive and win. Two Final Fours, an Elite Eight… yeah, it was pretty damn fun and exciting. NCAA selection day was always so much fun, and of course the first weekend of games was a blast and much more interesting and exciting.

I can imagine if you’ve only been a fan the last 20 years or so you remember one really good season, the 2006 Final Four team. Outside of that and the Wade years it’s been a lot of crappy basketball on top of crappy basketball. So I guess you tend to have no expectations of anything better. Fortunately I know how fun it can be. A lot of older fans like me know exactly what I’m talking about.

We talk about the LSU “brand”, and it would be really nice for the basketball team to add value to the brand instead of taking from it.
