Dominated vs North Carolina
Pat and Mo were the starting CBs, Tyrann was the nickel.

What about Michael Clayton
don't think he started from day 1. his bio showed that he only started 4, but I think we came out in 3 WR sets a few times. he was 2nd in receptions.
Jerel and Josh Reed started every game in 01.

If the question is did he start from Day 1, then the answer is "no he did not."

Eric Reid? I know he played as a freshman but I can't remember if he was listed as a starter.

Reid didnt get a ton of playing time until a late or mid season game Where his lanky arse came out and started laying the wood
Looked it up and it was against Alabama when he took over the starting spot for an injured Brandon Taylor. It was the grass chewing game

Booger mcfarland started as a true freshman.

pretty sure Trey Quinn started his freshman year in 2014. It was the year right after Landry and OBJ left, along with Wright and Boone. The only returning wr with any experience was Travin Durel so it opened the door for Quinn to start along with Durel.

As far as one from completely out of the blue...Shannon Cornelius.

he was always the nickel... If you use this logic then he never started

Good call, Wylie Tiger, but Whitworth began his long run of starts as a redshirt freshman.
From LSUsports.net...
"REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2002)
Talented redshirt freshman who was named First Team Freshman All-American by The Sporting News as well as First-Team Freshman All-SEC ... Player that showed improved each week ... Started all 13 games for the Tigers ..."

You have to be an exceptional football player/athlete just to get an LSU offer, you have to be REALLY special to start game one as a true freshman!
HUGE jump for anybody to go from high school to the SEC!
Juice Landry said it best when he said that it was MUCH harder to transition from Lutcher HS to LSU than it was from LSU to the NFL.
