Eh, I'm not so sure about this. LSU currently has the toughest remaining schedule in the nation. As the wins start mounting vs these tougher opponents, I think we start really climbing in the polls. Couple that with the fact that our play/record/style has changed dramatically since the coaching change. If health/personnel makes a difference, so should coaching changes. We might get more respect than you think.....

Does the committee take a 2-loss LSU SEC Champ, or a 1-loss Bama non-SEC Champ
I would think head to head win + conference championship > 11-1 vs. 10-2
Also, having played Wisconsin and not South Alabama OOC could help our OOC schedule strength. Alabama's biggest OOC game is USC, so how they and Wisconsin do could impact things. If Wisconsin runs the table and goes 10-2 with only two tough losses on the road at Ohio State and Michigan and USC stumbles a few times in the Pac 12, that would help mitigate our having two losses to their one.

or neither?
Depends on what happens with other schools around the country. Undefeated ACC, Big Ten, Pac 12 champs would all go ahead of either. Undefeated Baylor Big XII champ would be dicey. One loss Michigan or Ohio State (with loss to the other, which goes undefeated) would also be a factor.
It also would help if Auburn won all but one of their remaining SEC games, with the loss coming against Alabama. In that case, we'd have two very close losses, both on the road and both before our dramatic improvement, to two teams whose only losses came against Clemson, Texas A&M, Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan.

Here is a possible post season picture:
Both in:
ACC Champ - Clemson 13-0
Big 10 Champ - Ohio State 13-0
Fighting for the other 2 spots:
PAC 12 Champ - Washington 12-1
Big 12 Champ - Oklahoma 10-2
SEC Champ - LSU 10-2
ACC runner up - Louisville 11-1
Big 10 Runner up - Michigan - 11-1
SEC Runner up - Alabama 11-1
Both in:
ACC Champ - Clemson 13-0
Big 10 Champ - Ohio State 13-0
Fighting for the other 2 spots:
PAC 12 Champ - Washington 12-1
Big 12 Champ - Oklahoma 10-2
SEC Champ - LSU 10-2
ACC runner up - Louisville 11-1
Big 10 Runner up - Michigan - 11-1
SEC Runner up - Alabama 11-1

IMO, if the choice is between 10-2 SEC champion LSU and either Bama or A&M at 11-1...the committee would probably choose LSU.
1. Playoff committee has previously stated the position that they place high value on conference championships and that the only way a conference champ would be left out in favor of a non-champion would be if the non-champion was unquestionably the better team.
2. Committee has also said they look at head to head vs one another and vs common opponents.
So if LSU runs the table and wins the SEC, they have conference championship and head to head both favoring them to be selected. And the committee is actual people who watch the games making selections...not BCS computers programmed with math formulas to determine who plays for the national title. Committee will definitely consider that 1 of LSU's losses was basically a road game nearly 1000 miles away against a team thats currently in the top 10....and that LSU will have been a completely different and vastly improved team since the coaching change.
Barring any major upsets...I think playoff picture looks something like this:
1. Michigan vs Ohio State winner
2. Clemson
3. SEC champ
4. Washington OR Big 12 champ (if undefeated).
If neither Washington, Baylor or West Virginia finishes undefeated then it might open the door for loser of Ohio St-Michigan for consideration if it was a close game, or 1 loss Bama if LSU ran the table.

2-loss SEC Champion LSU goes over a 1-loss Alabama every time. They might both go, but if its only one then it would be LSU.
Now things would get very interesting if LSU (or A&M) were to win the West and then lose the SECCG to a 2 or 3-loss SEC East team (that either lost to Alabama or didn't play them). In that scenario I could see a 1-loss Alabama team going over the East team.

it's way, way too early to be doing this.
Far too many great matchups remain. Just wait and it will all sort itself out.

Couldn't care less about Alabama either way.

Both, with 2 out of Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan
This only works if Washington drops a game. The real question is if you have undefeated Clemson (ACC Champ), undefeated Washington (PAC 12 Champ) undefeated Ohio State or Michigan (Big 10 Champ), 1 loss Alabama, and 2 loss LSU (SEC Champ), 1 loss Houston (AAC Champ), and 2 loss Oklahoma (Big 12 Champ) Who goes?
Washington
Clemson
OSU/Mich
would be in, but out of 1 loss Bama who didn't win their division, 10-2 OU who won the Big 12, 1 loss Houston who beat Oklahoma and won the AAC, 10-2 LSU who beat Bama and the SEC East Champ?
That's a tough choice for the committee.
They can't put in OU because Houston beat them. They can't put in Houston because Alabama has an identical record with a better loss and better strength of schedule, but they have a better record and 2 more wins than LSU, who has the same record as Oklahoma...

This.
What Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, Clemson, Louisville, etc. do the rest of the season impacts the 4 selections as well.

That will be interesting if it happens. Also depends on tOSU/Mich/Neb, Clemson, and Washington winning out. You could have a Big12 win-out (WVU or Baylor)but not sure they could muster rankings to get top 4 spot.
In a case with that many undefeateds I suppose the popular pressure could push LSU and/or Bama out. It would be a tough decision. The big issue is that the possibility still exists for every Power5 conference except SEC to have an undefeated winner...

We're going to be the "fly in the ointment" in your scenario. We'll be the "gosh I don't think they're that good but they eeked out those wins and are technically the SEC champ" and "If LSU/Bama play on a neutral field, Bama wins 8 out of 10 times" and "I know they are the SEC champs but I think they are at best the third or fourth best team in that conference."
Get ready for it.
I hated reading this. Every word of it. But damn it man, you're speaking the truth.

Besides the Bama game if we go out and dominate every other game and only beat Bama by 7 to 10 points we will get in

NEWS FLASH... The press is NOT the committee.

Give me a 4-team playoff with the BCS formula used to set the teams over the current system any day.
Algorithms are non-biased. People are biased.
I'll take the computers, thank you.

News Flash: LSU is starting to turn some heads. If we beat bama and win the SECCG, you bet your arse we will be there

If LSU wins out after playing Ole Miss, Arkansas, Bama, A&M, Florida, and SEC championship - name a better team in the country.
