I'd rather take a risk for Vitello (a young coach who was also a highly valuable assistant at TCU and Arkansas) who took a dumpster fire Tennessee program to Omaha within a few years rather than hiring "One of Us" Bianco who only has 1 CWS appearance in 21 years

This! And its not even close. He literally checks every box. He is young. He wins. He recruits. He has SEC experience. But some people don't like that he yells at umps. WTH is wrong with y'all. Fly that boy straight to BR today.

maybe he was...but he's got serious job security at UL with his buy out, some say we weren't willing to give him that. How true that is, idk

I think he has reached his ceiling at UL. Maybe he's okay with that.

what has he really done so far?

He’s taken UT back and they’re a good team now
He did this in a short period of time because he’s a proven elite recruiter. He did so at a school in a state without a deep pool of elite talent, which means he can manage the numbers with out of state tuition. That translates well to LSU as an elite LSU roster will only have about half of its players from Louisiana.

Hilarious people acting like this is Tennessee's first ever trip to Omaha.
Including this one they now have five appearances in the last 70 years.

Yes, hilarious.

He also would've done it last year too if not for Covid. That team was unbelievably stacked

Not sure he is capable of handling the 11.7 limitations.

Take a step back from the asswhipping he gave to the worst LSU team in decades in the super regional.

But people wanted to hire Sully based on his championship.

Sully isnt good enough for most of this fanbase, so the odds of hiring someone we all want just isnt possible

I remember what people said bout Nick Saban before he got to LSU. Remember, we hired who, the guys we beat in the weedeater bowl!

LSU baseball has more resources than Tenn, he can likely win a lot more at LSU than Tenn.

I'm just pointing out something I said after the Super would be thing. That some people who wanted Sully will discount Vitello because he beat LSU to get there. Just another instance of the hypocrisy this board runs rampant with.

I forgot Herman coached Houston to a top 2 national ranking in the SEC.

Herman/Vitello comparison is such a lazy take. Vitello has made it to the biggest stage in the hardest conference in essentially 3 years.
