Seriously?!? People who know basketball wanted Wade.
Pirate King was the biggest O cheerleader here and he hated WW…why…because Wade was more popular than his man crush.

Wade was packing the PMAC and LSU was consistently in the NCAA tournament. It was too much fun for some of our self-loathing and perpetually miserable “fans” to enjoy.

I love Wade, but this is getting ridiculous. Get over it, at least until something concrete ever comes up about him being hired here again.

The fanbase is clearly over it. That’s why the PMAC is barely half full these days for men’s basketball. But at least we don’t cheat or play streetball anymore. We lose the right way and that’s what counts to the McMen.

You have one goal. Is to provoke people on here. No way in hell, this would happen in next ten years.
Even you know this.
Even you know this.

The guys on this board satisfied with 2 win SEC seasons and no March Madness are pathetic.
No one is satisfied with 2 win SEC seasons and everyone is aware of our coaching situation. It doesn't mean that we all have to worship at the altar of Will Wade.
He's not leaving NC State, a school with a rich tradition of hoops success, to return to LSU. That ship has sailed.
People who whine about what happened with Wade need to move on and stop acting like a teenager pining for a lost crush.

What makes you think he would even come back?

Get over it. He won’t be back.

Couldn't afford him now. Lane and JJ have record deals, as does Mulkey. Where eould the funds come from? Jeff Landry?

Vs the guys who love sitting home watching Ole Miss play football while LSU's season is over. What a memory.
Watching the greatest team in NCAA History vs watching Houston skin a Tiger. Brings a tear doesn't.
Who love watching McNeese play Basketball while LSU can't make it to the NIT.
You know who you are. Thanks for the Testimony. Go Rebs!
Thanks Woody, for all the Woody fans. You made them proud

A really big contract.
There was a push to hire Wade at the end of last season. Tate/Woodward shut it down. The ultimate result is both got pushed out at LSU. The same people that wanted to hire Wade then are still fans of LSU. The people who saved McMahon are no longer at LSU. That means barring a truly remarkable season by McMahon, remarkable not relative to his dreadfully low standards, but remarkable in general, McMahon will be out at the end of the season. He knows his support at LSU outside of a small handful of hopeful dreamers is gone. That's why he brought so many former players onto the staff this year (Hornsby, Dupree, Thornton). He's trying to build support to stave off the inevitable.
Wade is at a good spot at NC State. However, his contract isn't massive. In fact, McMahon is making more than Wade this year. LSU would be able to offer a better contract than NC State. The issue would be that NC State would likely match. That would then put the ball in Wade's court and LSU would have some strong selling points:
1. LSU's President was Wade's President last year at McNeese. There is familiarity.
2. Wade has spent 7 of the last 8 years of his life in Louisiana. He knows the donor landscape and they know him. Contrary to what the handful of "morally superior" fans on the board think, the donors don't give a shite that Wade was paying players. In fact, they were the ones giving him the money do to that! In a world where paying players is necessary it's probably a good thing to have a HC who is good at raising the money to do so.
3. Overall, the ACC is a fading conference relative to the SEC. Yes, at places like Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse, even NC State, basketball is paramount. But football still makes the world go round and the SEC/Big 10 are pulling away from the ACC/Big 12 financially. So much so that two of the ACC's biggest football brands, Florida St. and Clemson, are desperate to leave the conference. The future doesn't look great for the ACC relative to the SEC.
Is it a certainty Wade would come back to LSU? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But there is strong support to try to make that happen. Not from fans on the message board. But from people with the means to make that happen.
