I assume Your responding to someone else,

He’s played every semester LSU has paid for.

I just Think the move is shortsighted and risky.

Well, there aren't any NFL teams in San Diego. My point, however, was that the value of $80k is all relative based upon where you are. If he lives in a city like San Fran, Chicago, New York, DC, LA, etc, then 80k isn't all that much money for anyone.

do not forget the AGENT who will make his money if he is taken and will not lose any money if he is not.

Agents really screw a lot of these late round/ FA guys.

They give them loans when they sign with the agent at crazy high interest rates. Half of their rookie deal goes to the agent and many blow the other half on cars and "friends".

They also have the expense of living in 2 places and trainers for the off season.

Most NFL players end up with destroyed bodies and little money after their 3 year career.

They end up making more from being a college hero and using that for a sales job, than the NFL.

This is all very true. Just training for the combine and pro day is expensive. It can cost upwards of $20k just for the two months of training. That, of course like you said, is typically loaned to the players from their agent. And, also like you said, these agents provide these guys with living expenses until they sign a contract. And if you're a player that only makes a practice squad, you don't really have much, if any, money left over. Their weekly salary will likely cover not much more than paying back the agent and covering living expenses during the season. Those with visions of providing for their extended families on a base rookie, practice squad salary are likely being led astray by whoever is advising them.

Each player has their own reason(s) for leaving early. I get that. But why are you skipping the bowl game? Greedy has tens of millions to lose.....Alexander could earn himself a better draft grade with a strong performance.

I will be surprised if he's drafted at all.

Bruh, for some people that's more money than they can imagine.

Yea just imagine if a player graduated and then got their MBA from LSU with the connections of being an LSU athlete. Would be a lot longer than 3 seasons too.

The amount of money he can earn on the practice squad is a lot if damn money to a lot of people out there. For him, it may just be too good to pass up.

$129,200.00? Guarantee you this kid is just sick of school and wants to get paid and spend all his money on bling and a nice ride. He's only been enrolled for 5 semesters so I doubt he ever gets that degree. If he goes undrafted and all he does is bounce around between practice squads for a few years, he's going to find himself broke with no degree.

I guess with his knees being as bad as they are he has a now or never attitude. That being said, I'd be surprised to see him get drafted. And yes, I don't like that he isn't playing.

He’s prolly academically ineligible for the damn bowl.

It’s most likely because he’s known for awhile he’s quitting so he hasn’t been going to class.

They ain’t come hear to play school

He is making a very poor decision and likely costing himself a lot of money seeing as the draft is extremely deep at his position.

I don't see him going in the 1st 5 rounds. He should stay in school.

Well if his knees are bad and he’s only got a few years no one is going to draft him and give him any money anyway. Might as well stay and get a free college degree and make 100K for the rest of your life.

Bruh, it may be hard for some to imagine, but it will be imaginary money they will have 1 year after his career ends. I don’t care how smart you are with money bruh, $129k don’t last long. You live in America, right?
