Soooo…… you want chairbacks do you? For each row you will lose multiple seats since the chair backs require more width. So who will give up their seats on each row??? Move people to another section? Who will give up those seats?
You move people based on seniority and priority points. Are all seats actual held by STHs or held by companies.

“We should have stayed at the old Box. We won 5 titles there”
Right?
Right?

What does the park or stadium have to do with the success of the teams that play in them? Nothing.
Baseball had been investing in facilities that help Jay Johnson recruit and develop winners.
And guess what, he wants more of that.
Chair backs, berms, batters eye, etc. are not a priority and at a time when money for the players and tools to help them develop is what he needs, he isn’t going to push stuff that doesn’t help him on the field.

You act like it has to be one or the other when over half the SEC is doing both.

None of them forked over tens of millions on firing a football coach, hiring the highest paid football coach, spent millions on NIL and won two NCs in three years because we spent our baseball money on the right things.
But if someone wants to donate tens of millions to upgrade the Box, I’d be extremely happy. Maybe baseball needs their own sugar daddy.

That’s what Russia is for. Did you not hear that he sits in the grandstand?!

They’ve dragged their feet on these projects and are just going to inevitably drop a half assed indoor on current site of facility services behind center field.
The stadium wasn’t built with the future in mind and no one had the foresight to save space for projects.
Sorry for thinking the best program in the country would do more upgrades and amenities for fans over the course of 17 seasons than adding 150+ premium seats because real estate became available on the field.

Don’t forget the replaced the champions club seats with some ergonomic mesh.

UT and Auburn are the only ones to do a major baseball stadium upgrade post NIL, and both have smaller parks that make those upgrades cheaper and easier.
The facilities arms race is over and building and upgrades will be out of necessity unless a specific donor funds it. Money is going other places now, chiefly talent acquisition. That’s more important than any stadium upgrade.

You think that money showed up post NIL?

What are you babbling about? A major stadium upgrade is going to take at least 2-3 years to plan from proposal to rendering to engineering. That’s bare minimum. Neither of those two upgrades started their trek toward reality before NIL blew up into what we’ve seen the last 2-3 years, especially now with Rev Share moving revenue directly to players.
It is doubtful we will see another major SEC baseball stadium upgrade for a while unless a particular donor or entity funds most or all of it.

So as long as we are paying football coaches a lot of money and and spending a lot of money on NIL we can’t upgrade Alex Box? Yikes…

I was off by 118 seats

Alex Box should have been built correctly the first time.
If they replace bleachers with chairs, cost will be prohibitive. 4 tickets in premium bleachers Sec 222? and parking costs about $1,600 for the season +/- some bucks

I can imagine the first “upgrade” to come will be LED lights.

I love the aluminum bleachers. Please GOD never let them change.

We can’t build a new PMAC either
Posted on 2/11/26 at 9:49 pm to The Hurricane
Instead of a new PMAC potentially located off-campus, LSU Athletics should invest in a brand new Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field and make it the best collegiate ballpark in all the land.
There is no collegiate baseball program more worthy.
Collegiate baseball is the new minor leagues. LSU needs a ballpark that reflects its status in the game.
Easy to say when it's not my money to spend, I know...
