He performed the same way in college. Big bully against lesser talent, but pushed back often when against equal or better talent.

The better OL of the two was always Emery Jones Jr.

Damn NFL talent evaluators a hundred times over all missed on this but LSUShock had it.

Well in consolation, he is a rookie trying to block one of the best defenses in recent years in the NFL. Those guys are absolute dogs.

His best shot to stick around the league is a move to RT or inside to guard. He didn’t have the arm length or elite athleticism to play LT in the NFL. He will learn from this but he is playing out of position.

Having him paired next to a terrible LG hasn't helped. They're communication was awful, often just letting guys through untouched.

He was the 4th pick of the draft. He’s supposed to stop guys, rookie or not

Patriots should have waited 2 years for Lance Heard right?

I'm just a dude who watches football, but I think it's the same comment most NFL evaluators have had. He's big and has a good base, but he was posterized by NFL talent many times in his career here and continues to get caught by NFL talent at this level (obviously).

You can have a lot of great reps as a Tackle, but when your off reps are as bad as Will's, you're not elite.

When you are a top 5 pick you are expected to handle them. He’ll get better, but he’s just not an exceptional athlete for that position

He missed 5 weeks before playing against the best defensive player in the league and a guy that could end up a HoF with 3 more seasons like this one. Then faced Denver’s defense which had studs and now Seattle. May had 5 seconds several times but couldn’t hit the side of the barn.

I’m giving him a pass

his lack of arm length is simply exploited at tackle

Yep, those arms being 5/8” shorter than average made him get hammered!

You do realize there’s maybe 5 elite left tackles in the NFL? That’s why they get paid like they do. Campbell is fine but he’s not a LT going forward. He’s also facing the best pass rushers in the world. Not nearly as easy as it looks.

Mate he gave up less than a handful of sacks here what are you talking about. He was an elite college football player for LSU.

So much so that guys that stake their careers to making these decisions said he’s worth taking with the FOURTH pick out of every NFL eligible player. He had a pretty good first half of his season. Got carted off with what everyone thought was a season ending injury and came back with some rust and went up against elite comp and got beat. Maybe he will bust. Idk and you don’t either pretending you saw something that pro evaluators didn’t is just lazy and lame

Still got too many Brad "Sylvester" Davis bad habits.
Maybe Guard is a better position for him in the NFL......

LSU Shock and all his GM success should be listened to with tremendous respect.

Lester is a known idiot on these boards.

Will was a candidate for the all-rookie team before the injury as some other posters pointed out. I guess Lester and the other idiots on here don’t think he deserves any slack for injuring his MCL late in the year. His performance dipped after the injury.

Year 2 will tell us what he’s really made of.
