Why not? I don't think he would have been reinstated if him being reinstated would put the program in jeopardy. Some of what he said in his statement might just be lip service.
I am not saying you are wrong, but I do think there is a reason to not take it at face value.

That statement seemed to be damning Wade with faint praise. Our admin totally sucks. Still throwing him under the bus.

I mean I’m glad Will is back, but it’s still likely that he (and the other top programs) did it, theres just no hard proof.
