It’s the freakin 4th round, not the 7th. Why do you draft a QB a year after taking Mac Jones? This is inexplicable.

Surprised nobody has taken Salyer or Schaffer yet. I thought Schaffer wrecking Hutchinson would boost his stock alot and Salyer has been a beast all year against everyone.

It's their tradition.

Almost all their picks have made me scratch my head.

It's about grade and acquiring assets. They can develop the guy, have a good back up and flip him in a few years for a good pick or picks, if he works out. Or have him challenge Jones. It's the most important position. Having a surplus is not a bad thing.

The Cowboys once drafted a QB with the first pick overall and then took a QB with a 1st in the compensatory draft. Everyone thought it was crazy. Then they traded the 2nd QB to the Saints, in a trade that netted them 2 1sts and a 3rd. Got to plan ahead and have pieces to move..

This lady up here to say YES

She does seem like she'd be a positive teacher though.

We’re now at the part of the draft where Punters are being selected, as well as players from powerhouses like the Air Force Academy, Villanova, Fordham, and Ouachita Baptist.

But still no Texas Longhorns.

I’m not sure why anyone is shocked about the Zappe pick. Pats are doing the same thing they’ve done for 20 plus years they invest a mid round pick on a QB every 2-3 years no matter what

Geez there were mock drafts a few months ago that had him number one overall, was it the injuries?

Probably so:

quote:

Strong had multiple procedures on his right knee during the offseason, the same knee he had surgery on to repair an osteochondritis dissecans lesion before his senior season at Wood High School in California (eight biodegradable nails were inserted to affix his knee to the leg bone). [...] After the 2020 season, however, he underwent surgery to clean up cartilage in the same knee with which he had issues in high school. Strong had an arthroscopic procedure to clear scar tissue in August and had the knee drained multiple times after that.

Also, just in general with so many players taking a COVID year this draft was just stupid deep. I know the Philly GM said he was comfortable trading picks away because he knew they could get UDFAs that they had 6th round grades on anyways.

Part of that was Jimmy Johnson wanting Steve Walsh (his former QB @ Miami), but it ended up not working out.
