Why aren’t these weekday (well even Sunday game 2) games just on regular fox?
I get the ALDS but why not the ALCS?
Especially yesterday not like there’s any prime TV at that time they’re putting over it

Usually I would agree, but Fox just cut that deal with WWE for Friday night. I think that is weighing big on this whole thing. You just spent a ton of money for WWE, can't move it 2 weeks in

I think it's a no-brainer to pitch Verlander Friday either way.
He is going to be used one more time in this series. Might as well make that one time occur Friday, which is his normal day anyway. This keeps him in line to start Game 2 of the World Series on normal rest...and Friday is going to be a pivotal game one way or the other. Either you are tied 2-2 and are looking to get the series lead going home, or you are up 3-1 and looking to end the series.

Okay Friday that’s a pass
I’m just talking about literally the rest of the series
All of the WS is on Fox.
Tonight and yesterday’s game were on FS1, Saturday will be on FS1 (even though it was on Fox for game 1) and Sunday will be on FS1.
Isn’t it always better for TV ratings to have games on a cable TV network?

Buckeye06 is dead on. You don’t bench Alvarez for Marisnick in a any postseason game where the DH is available, YA’s slump or Marisnick’s defense be damned.

Tonight’s game officially postponed per Astros Twitter. 4 straight games Thurs-Sun if needed. Also Hinch confirmed his next 2 starters:
Greinke game 4
Verlander game 5
Greinke game 4
Verlander game 5

Verlander will get lit up in Yankee stadium.

Playoff baseball is just hard and Yed finally reached a level of baseball that makes him look human.
I don't think you can bench him because he is still has ungodly power in a stadium with a short right porch.

Has Hinch played the regular starters 4 days in a row all season? I assume he will rotate some days off for Altuve, Brantley, Bregman, Springer and Correa these coming days for rest.

Yankees need to take the next two in the Bronx and send it back to Houston

Yeah the WWE and the ALCS is impacting the programming.

So now the ALCS will air on FS1 on Friday night and WWE is on FOX. Ohio State vs. Northwestern will get moved somewhere. BTN? Fox Business? The Big Ten definitely did not have this in mind when it scheduled these Friday night games.

You going to minute maid this weekend?
Posted on 10/16/19 at 11:58 am to bearkatag15
I think Tucker may draw the start against Tanaka.

Thought I saw somewhere that it was going to be on BTN
I don't know much about FX, but would that garner more eyeballs? I have no clue

They are also saying OSU-NW game could be on Fox Business channel... going to have to do some searching for that one on my tube.

Astros are making a huge mistake with this pitching. If the Astros lose Game 4 and 5 pitching Greinke and Verlander, they are screwed. Who pitches in Game 6? Cole on short rest..then you have no one in Game 7. Uriquidy should start either Game 4 or 5. Verlander and Cole should be saved for Game 6 and 7.

Pitch 1: Fastball taken for strike 1
Pitch 2: fastball away fouled off
Pitch 3: fastball inside taken for ball 1
Pitch 4: off speed below the zone. Swinging strike

Hinch completely guaranteeing Cole will only pitch once in this series. Wow.

Gusty winds will still be present for both Game 4 and 5, which could play a significant role given the home run-friendly confines of Yankee Stadium.
Right field at Yankee Stadium is historically known for being a home run haven, located just 314 feet from home plate.
For Thursday night, Longley noting that the winds could once again play a big role, as they will be strongest during the first couple innings.
"It will be a windy day on Thursday, but it will be largely dry with a mix of sunshine and clouds," Longley said. "The winds will be out of the west at 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph at times. The dry conditions will continue into the evening hours, while the wind will slowly diminish. This wind favors balls hit to the right field, routine fly balls will go longer, leading to more home runs. The temperature at first pitch will be in the mid-50s and will be largely in the lower 50s for the game with the AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperature in the mid-40s."

It isn’t like they’re throwing on short rest. If those two lost back to back in games 5-6, or at any other point in this series, the Astros would have been equally as screwed anyway.
