re: Do you get as excited about the Masters as you did 20 or so years ago?

Pretty well nailed it. Have an upvote sir.
I love Masters week. It’s the only tournament that I can think back X years ago and remember that Tiger or Phil or Jack or Seve or Tom did that right there on that hole. The reason is like you said, it is played at the same place every year so every time you see Amen Corner or Hogan’s Bridge or hear the crowd noise on the back nine on Sunday it triggers a memory for me.

Draftkings lineups for golf majors make me whole

I get more excited now about taking a nap on Sat or Sun afternoon while Nance and the birds put me to sleep.
I will keep an eye on leaderboard and could get excited about it on Sunday depending on the names at top.

In my 40’s now.
Golf went way way up.
NBA went way way down.

Yes. It’s awesome every year. I watch for the course as much as I do for the players.

Scenery is nice. Just not a big golf fan.

Augusta proper is a pretty awful city.

I’m more hyped this year thanI have been in a while.
Have a feeling it’s gonna be a good one.

No Tiger, No Excite
But I still enjoy watching.

I don't care about any sport as much as i did 20 years ago. I used to be glued to sportscenter or espnnews 24/7
But with golf, tiger was must watch tv in his prime.

Yes.
It hurts the excitement as I can’t name EVERYBODY anymore in contention.
Still exciting. USOpen beats the pros in submission. This major makes them implode mentally. Especially the Americans. For American players it may be bigger and more sentimental than a US Open.
Watching pros fall apart like us is compelling TV.

I don't have near the passion for any sport that I had 20 years ago. I will watch though.
This. The 90’s and early 2000’s were a great time watching. Now it’s just a bunch of unemployed influencers getting tickets and showing up to the events. It’s so watered down as a fan now.

This. The NBA is such a terrible and trashy product now. It was probably my favorite growing up and it’s basically unwatchable at this point. PGA has surpassed the NBA.

What an idiotic take regarding the majors “little brother”. You do realize 95% of all professional golfers would rather win The Masters than the other three majors?

For me nothing will be as memorable as Net’s full blown meltdown when Sergio won

I hope their grandfather's are proud of what they did. I'll be dammned if my Capt Bill (my grandfather) went to Europe in '43 so I could sit here on the internet and root for some POS Spanish fig to win the Masters.
frick this.

I do.
My interest in pro golf is at an all time low but I'll always watch the Masters religiously

Love all the majors though, especially the British open cause it comes on in the morning. Remember in 86 when Jack made his run. Was living out at my camp at the time with only an antenna and could barely pick up CBS out of Beaumont. It was in and out all day but came in a little clearer when Jack was making his run. Unbelievable turn out and I wasn't a big Jack fan at that time.

I enjoy it more now, especially after being there about 15 years ago.
