The bigger question is, “Why did the Browns resign him?”

What’s the benefit of having a game changer on defense when the offense is hopeless trash?

Yep

It's football, where you are always one hit away from not being able to play/make money anymore.

Always take the money when you can and then if able to, chase rings at end of career.

Imagine feeling pity for a multi millionaire who plays a game for a living.

I dislike him

I dislike the NFL more for letting him get away with a racial hoax during a time of racially inflamed tensions all over the country

He chose the correct path of being paid more. These guy’s bodies will hurt forever. Get every penny you can.

He literally had the choice and he took the money. He has no right to complain

That's the part I wonder about. Do they really sell enough Garrett jerseys in Cleveland to make it worth keeping him over trying to sign some offensive talent?

IDK, there's probably a reason I'm not a GM.

Maybe the Browns will put it together with Shedeur in the next couple of seasons and win it all

Well, he got punished for that part. I agree of course, but the NFL at least did some performative response to it.

It didn't do anything about the aftermath, where the victim was publicly accused of being a racist by the perpetrator. I admit I'm biased about that saga because the NFL continued to perpetuate other hoaxes - like the absurd Althea Bernstein hoax - long after it became obvious to the public that it was a lie.

He chose to sign the extension because it was the most money.
He chose money over winning. There is nothing wrong w/ that but I will never feel sorry for any athlete that makes millions of dollars to play a game and work out.....

He's the one who chose to Texas A&M and resign with the Browns.

Same reason why I don't feel bad for Mike Trout - they both had the opportunity to leave in their prime but chose to stay for money.
