I like how you assume people know anything about a random Saints team from 27 years ago

This is a Louisiana-based board, so it’s very likely.

Didn’t that Saints team start like 5-0 and were whipping everyone’s arse, but then had a bye week and THEN went to Pittsburgh only to get blown out like 37-6?????

This Saints team was 10-2 with a three-game lead over the 7-5 Bucs and need one win to clinch the division. But they’ve lost two in a row and the lead is down to a game.

They’ve lost two games in a row after winning nine in a row. Get off the gas.

If they lose to Minny this Friday, we may have something to worry about but until then, enjoy the 10-4.

Counter point- the average age on here is somewhere in the 20s to early 30s id bet and most of the board is not going to be able to remember much for the 1993 season of the Saints that wasn’t that remarkable in a meaningful way.

If you want to make the comparison, go ahead, but put a little detail in the OP to show the comparison and connection.

Defense started struggling against the run in late ‘92 (couldn’t stop Thurman Thomas in a late-season loss in the Dome that year)

I remember that prevented us from going 13-3 where I believe we still would’ve been a WC team due to 9ers going 14-2

3 first half turnovers killed the Steelers last night. Couldn't getting any mo going in the first half because of that and gave Cincy a shirt field for 3 scores. I was more worries about the rushing offense coming in. Which was pretty much dead last in the NFL. I'm really not too worried.

i think the Saints had lost Pat Swilling on defense by then to FA.

but that's kinda like the Steelers losing Bud Dupree one of their best pass rushers.

Rickey Jackson went to the 49ers in 1994.

Sam Mills later departed for Carolina.

The 92 Saints were 12-5 including the playoffs, they lost to Philly twice, SF twice and Buffalo all of those teams lost in the playoffs to Dallas

Considering they lost to Minnesota in the playoffs last year and Mike Zimmer has had Sean Payton’s number, for the most part, there is reason for concern. Not to mention a banged-up QB and a defense that has leaked against the run the last two weeks. So you get off the gas, son.

They played three games in 11 days. Not a good look against the Bengals but damn dude.
