Can’t use the age argument. Lebron was playing high school kids at age 17 doncic was playing grown men. So obviously Luka has less of learning curve. Could Bron have been pro at 17? Of course but he lived here and not overseas. That’s why it is not apples to Apples.

So when a 22 year old Lebron almost single handedly took down the Pistons in the 2007 Eastern Conference finals, are you saying the world wasn’t rooting for him?

As a literal poster on this board when that happened, it was basically the same divide.

Even when Lebron was in literal God mode later in his Miami run, the same people would try to pick a hole ("muh post up game" was the worst).

There is a population of people who never liked Lebron and always came up with reasons why. It is what it is

I remember when curry broke that 3 point record how cringe and forced the nba made it. They nba actually paused the game and played Disney-esque celebration music while everyone fellated him. I can’t imagine how bad it will get for LeBrons record. They might bring out Obama or something

Fair enough. Maybe I was in a bubble and a little younger at the time, but everyone I knew was rooting for him those years, and were stoked about what he did during the Pistons series. It really felt like we were watching the next Jordan emerging live during that series.

Then the Cavs got swept by the Spurs not Lebron’s fault at all, Spurs were just too damn good.

Took him 400 more games with MJ giving up two years of his prime

People have already proven this nonsense because MJ took almost 1200 more shots when Lebron reached him

Who cares. He’s been in the league right out of high school. Breaking that record doesn’t move him above MJ and will not change the fact he’s a bitch

Lots of guys took advantage of getting to the league out of high school. But how many actually lived up to the hype and started dominating the league at 18? Just the "Chosen One." (20.9 points a game, 5.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds, NBA Rookie of the Year)

Not Kobe Bryant (2nd team all rookie 7.6 points a game)or Kevin Garnett (10 points a game)and they eventually played at least 20 years in the league as well.

Not Dwight Howard or Amare Stoudemire or Tracy McGrady or Monta Ellis or Lou Williams or Jermaine O'Neal, not even "Chocolate Thunder" himself in the way back machine. To name a few.

What?

MJ retired twice. By choice.

Had he played 3 more seasons - or 240 more games averaging 28 points per... he would have broken that record.

But Jordan didn't want to continue playing in Chicago without Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. He didn't want to go through a rebuild. And he didn't want to move on to another team.

Winning Championships, MVPs and scoring titles was MJ's thing.

That doesn't bother me at all. It's things he says and does off the court that cause me not to like or respect him.

NBA was better when they played defense and you had to have skills to score.

If only Bron had all those little and slow white baws to score all over like MJ did
