I really don’t think elite schools tamper. They don’t have to. The agents know the elites will pay top dollar so they, the agents, reach out to the coaches.

Almost every player of note has representation that is free to discuss with schools whatever the hell they want to. Nobody is “tampering” in the classic sense.

I could never be this naive. If a guy isn’t in the portal, you can’t speak with him or his representation. If a guy is under contract, you can’t speak with him or his representation.
If a kid goes in the portal, he’s fair game.
