Just goes to show you, records don’t matter because the owners are still making bank.

If records did, several coaches would be held to a higher standard.

Their team is in purgatory, they need to reset.

If you were a GM, who on the steelers' roster would you trade a 1st round pick for? Maybe Watt but he's past his prime and having injury issues, I don't think he's worth more than a late 1st round pick. They've been scraping by for years. They used to hit on some late round receivers but now they aren't even doing that. Tomlin is just as responsible as the GM for this roster.

Ryan Clark's racism rants would be epic if MT gets fired.

Quite possibly the most overrated NFL coach of all time.

He is treated like a god in sports media but has been incredibly mediocre for years and years

If he doesn't get fired today, you have to wonder how much power not being racist holds.

Tomlin has 9th highest win percentage in NFL history after 20 years of coaching at 62%
Regular Season Record: 193-114-2 (.628 win percentage)
Postseason Record: 8-11 (.421 win percentage)

that is impressive. Harbaugh is 11th

Regular Season Record: 180 wins, 113 losses (180-113)
Regular Season Win %: .614 (61.4%)

Sure those rankings aren't based on active coaches (minimum of 50 games?). When looking at Pro Football reference, they have Tomlin as 26th all-time (8th active) and Harbaugh as 36th (11th active)

Edit: Just noticed Tomlin is 9th in total wins, and Harbaugh is 14th.

It would be even funnier if the Steelers and Tomlin agreed to part ways, the Steelers hired Harbaugh, and the Ravens hired Tomlin.

He had a hall of fame QB in his prime until his decline in 2018. From 2010 on he won 3 playoff games with him.

Ben was the quarterback for 6 consecutive playoff losses. He has to bear some responsibility for those.

Ben was only the QB for four of the seven playoff losses. Rudolph, Rodgers and Wilson were the other three.

During the last 4 playoff games that Ben played the Steelers defense gave up 36 (Patriots), 45 (Jaguars), 48 (Browns) and 42 (Chiefs) points. The offense under him scored 17, 42, 37 and 21 points.

It was definitely not Ben that was the issue.

The losses aren’t even close either. They’ve all been arse beatings.

Move on from him for frick’s sake

I can't wait for you guys to hire a guy who will lead you to 4 wins and just be lost in that vortex for the next half to a decade.

As opposed to going an entire decade with no playoff wins and always drafting in the 18-24 range?

frick, I’d hate constantly drafting in the top 5 with way better odds to find the next franchise QB!

Yet, he was supposed to be a defensive minded coach.

The guy is a good coach. You don’t do what he did and be a bad coach. He is just not as great as he was continually made out to be.

Once Cowher’s guys left he did nothing. And you have to laugh at his defenders crying about his roster. You don’t coach that long, win that many regular season games and not have the ability to make decisions. He made those decisions and they were terrible.

I'll defend him. Think Tomlin is a great coach. He's been dealt a crap roster and QB situation for years yet still has a winning record every year and makes the playoffs.

Guy is a great coach but he needs to move on. He needs a reset and a new environment.

Seems to be a reasonable take.
