A damn shame the suspect is 17 and not 18.
This happened down the road from me. Absolutely tragic but also very infuriating.
This stuff isn't supposed to happen around these parts.

I think even a couple of years younger than 17 can as well, but below 17 requires certification and meeting certain other conditions including a specific crime to get transferred from juvenile courts to adult courts.
The city didn’t wait for certification or initial hearing to release name and mugshot, so outside of not qualifying for death penalty this kid is being treated like an adult from the start.

I'd love to be present at the next Zoning & Planning Commission meeting when developers are trying to rezone parcels to multifamily.
I know for a fact the residents of this area are extremely angry about this right now.

Man, the parents, and even the brother were both on the news last night
The dad gave an interview just hours after his kid was murdered. Obviously people of faith but good God I could not have done that.

Greg Willis, the Republican DA in Colin County, doesn’t F around. The kid is going away for a longgg time.

ZERO chance I would have spoken to any media. Probably would be a while before I would speak to anyone not in law enforcement or immediate family.

Collin county will almost assuredly charge him as an adult. He's getting life

Exactly. The DA in Collin County doesn't F around. He's not about charity. Kid will never see the outside of the jail again.

I just can’t fathom the lack of impulse control.
Like does this kid have a personality disorder or a history of serious trauma.

Just saw a short clip on this. How stupid.

How do you stab someone at a track meet? Where did the weapon come from?
Posted on 4/3/25 at 9:55 am to More beer please
Kids at my school in Louisiana used to carry pocket knives, but I never saw anyone stab another kid.
Somehow I imagine if I went back to my school that knives probably aren’t allowed anymore.

If they keep pulling the rubber band hard enough, it eventually snaps back.

He brought a knife to a track meet and he murdered my son by stabbing him in the heart. The guy was in the wrong place and they asked him to move and he bowed up.
There are metal detectors at some of the meets that I go to here in LA, but not all of them. Every meet I go to there are yutes standing in the aisles blocking the passage of people. I have to ask them to move or they just fricking stand there. It is infuriating to me.
There were 6-7 deputies at a meet on Tuesday and they had one of these thugs in handcuffs.

Kids in that culture just don't know how to take an arse whipping. It's crazy.
