ESPN is evil, their prime function is propaganda, the sports is just the bait.

A long time ago, I would spend hours at a time watching old NFL Primetime shows on YouTube.

The anchor talent at ESPN has really dropped off as well.

Primetime is still around but it's been on ESPN+ for the last few years because Berman is old and washed and TJ quit during covid.

This seems like a silly question, but wouldn’t they still have this if ratings warranted it? Maybe there just isn’t a demand for this type of recap show.

I’ll always wax nostalgic for that era of cable TV though.

NFL Primetime was at it's best when Berman, Tom Jackson and Robin Roberts were the crew. Deion Sanders was playing in Atlanta, so you never saw his games in Dallas, but they'd show a kick return or an INT for a TD, and they chant Primetime, Primetime, Primetime, while they showed it. Then Robin would say, "Go on wit cha bad self!"

The music they'd play over the highlights on NFL Prime Time was freakin' LIT.

"Nobody circles the wagons quite like the Buffalo Bills."

"THAT'S why they play the games."

"The Raayduhz."

I could go on and on. Stone cold classic stuff.

ESPN peaked in the early ‘90s. Once they got rid of Baseball Tonight and NFL Primetime, and once their MLB broadcasts became a mere rotation of at least one of Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Cubs, Braves, Cardinals, that network became way less must-see. College football live games are the only reason I watch now.

NFL Primetime was doomed once ESPN lost the rights to the Sunday night package. They tried doing a similar version on Sportscenter featuring Berman and TJ in the same time slot, but it just wasn’t the same.
