I forgot he didn’t play college ball. We drafted Breggy 2 and Kyle 5 in the same draft. What was funny was Preston was up with us when we drafted Kyle.

You like down votes, eh? you know why they downvoted that post? It hurt their pussy feelings because it was the truth. I lived there long enough to see it first hand. It is small town mentality and true bandwagon fans. Kind of like all the new Astros fans we have. Stupid.

I read Red Sox or tigers

Wish the Braves could pull him and talk him into short stop.

I think Houston is probably going to regret letting almost the entire core of their team walk the past few years
Springer and Correa haven't been the same since they left and definitively not worth what they got.
Tucker could break that trend but Bregs has been trending down the last few years. While I absolutely hate losing him as an LSU/Astros fan it was the absolute right thing to do based on what he wanted.

Still holding out hope he comes back to the Stros.
I am biased but I feel its in his best interest to do so. He can stay at 3rd and the astros would slide Paredes to 1st, and Hou is obviously his home and he is a fan favorite.
Boros and his ego has fricked a few guys over, and he looks like he is doing it w Bregman. Boston now seems to be the most likely team to sign him, where he would likely be moved to 2nd.

Houston signed Christian Walker to play first. But Paredes could play LF.

Last few years, it has happened to one or two of his clients each year. Jon Heyman did a Q&A yesterday and he named five teams: Astros, Cubs, Red Sox, Tigers, and Mariners. He added that he put the Mariners in there because they have the money but have been reluctant to spend. Thinks Red Sox are the most likely as this point.

This. Bregman is my favorite astro, but I feel what the astros offered him was more than fair. Dude is really going to fall off leaving Minute Maid. Not having the short porch in left field means his already falling home run numbers will drop more.

He would have to go to second and Ozzie slide to short.
His agent made him look incredibly stupid.

he isnt worth what he is asking... it makes him look like a fool, which he is... if im the astros i drop my offer down to 15 mill 6 years. instead of the 20 he was offered.

I think the Red Sox are the most likely.

I personally think you and LE are both right.
Bregman can still be the most professional hitter on your team for the next 4-5 years
The juiced ball in '19 probably has as much to do with those numbers as Bregman's approach this past year, being his contract year.
He is a dead pull power guy, but can hit to all fields. And his discipline at the plate suffered from his need to put up power numbers for his ill-fated attempt to sign the big, long term deal he wanted.
Make no mistake, Bregman is about himself first, but still a very capable hitter. His declining mobility and lack of speed will affect parts of his game, and arm strength due to injury may put him at 2nd base, but would loved to have had him at a reasonable price.
It was probably a good thing he turned down the Astros offer as a fan of the organization, b/c that contract would not age well, but I don't doubt that Bregman's abilities fueled by his ego will produce some good years, esp in his games against us.

The Astros offer was an AAV of $26M (6 years/$156M). It was a fair offer by Houston.
