Great show. If you like that era you would enjoy it. A lot of hotties also.

Yes. But the female Irish character(Maggie?) almost ruined the show for me. Thankfully, it seems like her story arch faded towards the end of the series.

Yes, a definite watch.
Disagree. I think the evolution of her character and morality played out well as the series went on.

Definitely worth a watch, especially if you’re into that era, but it’s a tier below a lot of the usual great series mentioned on this board.
They do a pretty good job of bringing in antagonists that are usually there for a season. Those roles are well acted.
Also, I wish they could have done a couple whole different series. Something with Capone, and another with Rothstein, Luciano, and Lansky. Those stories are worthy of their own series.

you want to see Gretchen Mol looking really hot, watch the Bettie Page movie
If rumors are to be believed, Gretchen Mol was on and around Hollywood couches regularly. I'd like to butter her muffin.

Started my 3rd watch and Harrow just appeared for the first time a few minutes ago. I didn’t remember him entering the series this early.
One of the greatest characters of all time in any show.

Definitely worth a watch.
HBO completely missed out on doing a spin off with the actors that played Capone, Luciano, and the other real life mob characters.

It's a great show, but as many have stated, the last two seasons are not quite the same as the first few. I really would love to see a more historically accurate version of the show more set in NYC around the time of the castellammarese war. But it is highly entertaining. It sort of went south when a certain main character (no spoiler) went away, but supposedly they were difficult to work with or something.

Was it season 2 where some key story figures disappeared? I dunno, that's where I bailed.
Same here. The one obvious exit pretty much ended the whole thing for me

I think I fell off around there too. Don’t even remember how/why. I think maybe a new season of GOT or some other show took priority and it kept getting bumped.
Why is it so hard to pick back up on a good show or start over? It’s good watching either way.

Absolutely worth a watch
Reading interviews from the main production team was that HBO pretty much sprung on them that Season 5 was the end when the writers were planning on making it to 7. Hence why the last season is incredibly rushed and not even close to the quality of the first few seasons.

there's no doubt about this, it's clear as day.
