Denzel Washington announces plans to retire...

First he's going to finish the slew of projects he is currently committed to and then he's calling it a career.

People always throw Pacino and Deniro out there as tGOATs but I contend Denzel has a far better portfolio…

He wasnt believable in Equalizer 3. You could tell he was struggling in scenes. The first scene where the camera walked you through the aftermath, rather than the actual take downs, was a huge clue

I'm really interested to see what the Hannibal movie is like.
I have Pedro Pascal fatigue but he would have been perfect for Hannibal IMO based on what most historians think he actually looked like (though some do think he might have been black).

I think the accent would’ve thrown me off way too much for that to work. And at a minimum Hannibal was of partial African and Greek heritage. I’m not sure a guy from Chile works out, even if Hannibal did live in Spain for a long time.
ETA: not sure how that coin proves anything. I’m not saying he was definitely black, but I am saying he definitely wasn’t silver
ETA 2: I think the dude who played him in the 2006 movie (Alexander Siddig), looks a lot like what I imagine in my mind. He’s 1/2 Sudanese 1/2 English
Final ETA: Denzel is way too old for this role, maybe he’s playing Hamilcar?

Yeah I mean I don't think its 100% settled by any means, but I do think we can probably guess correctly that he wasn't black.
The movie is still technically historically accurate with Denzel in my book though, because its not an open and shut issue

just in case people aren't being funny, there's a black director that is named Steve McQueen. (Shame, 12 years a slave, Widows etc.)
Widows is actually a banger movie if you haven't seen it.
