Gen V is much better than The Boys because they do make fun of wokeness and the silly shite that occurs on college campuses and with that age group and social media. Contrast that with the constant bullshite on The Boys the last couple of years because the showrunner is so afflicted with TDS that he’s lost the plot, figuratively and literally.

I’m not liking it as much as season 1. The social commentary seems way too forced, the relationship between Jordan and Marie is way too forced and zero connection between them, I dunno the show just isn’t as good this go round. And I was going to say that the whole Andre died thing was poorly written but it looks like he did IRL

Man I really enjoyed season 1 but this season has dropped a ton in quality. It’s also going over the top with the gross shite. The Boys has made some gross shite really funny but Gen V is trying way too hard. The toilet scene and that dorm room scene, come the frick on. And white man bad, minorities good tone of it all is way too on the nose. The Boys is similar but it doesn’t take you out of the show. I’m just waiting for them to throw in a frick ICE here in the next couple episodes just because
also the blood chick being more powerful than Homelander, come on. And to someone else’s point, no one is really likeable in this show either.

Meh I’m enjoying it. Losing the guy who played Andre has definitely impacted the show but it is what it is. I like Marie and Emma well enough. Save the Last Dance needs a bigger role.

I’m going to try to make it to the end, but this season has sucked. It’s the Girl Power Super Hour with some cringy teen angst girl on boy and girl romance thrown in. They get into more stupid situations than Scooby and his gang, They are constantly yelling and bitching. All the time. They barely use the one guy character of the gang they have left.
And the villain is so easy to figure out it’s almost insulting.

Slogged through another new episode. I'm just hate watching it through the end at this point. They are obviously destroying the Boys now too so sadly I'm not nearly as excited about the final season of the Boys as I would have been.
More super girl power hour action this week with The Girls (should have been the name of this show, missed opportunity). We even got a new girl character this week (well a little in last week she was) and she is quite dreadful. I don't like a single character on this show. The main boy character, he was a good boy this week. Can't have some crazy powerful boy. He has to be tame like a good puppy and help those girls out.
Show is pretty garbage. That is fine but now letting it ruin the Boys is inexcusable.

Season has really picked up the last 2 episodes. This week’s was one of the best of the series.

Good god. Surprised you don't like the show more if you bitch and complain this much

I’ve actually enjoyed it a good bit.

Last episode was very interesting.
They've got to be leading into an eventual joining of the two shows, and they better not kill Homelander, even though i'm sure that's where this is going. I completely get that is the goal of everyone in this universe, to kill Homelander b/c he's too powerful, but i'd prefer to see the "bad guy" continue to win. he's too awesome of a character to kill off.

She's not ugly, but definitely has no body, and is uber average.
It moves very slow, and isn't as entertaining as season 1. Nonetheless, with Stan Edgar appearing to get things amped up, I'll continue watching.

The whole episode I was thinking “do they think we don’t know Cipher is a meat-puppet for Godolkin?” That has to be the most obvious twist in recent tv history.
quote:
"We were worried that everyone's going to guess that," Fazekas says of Godolkin being the charred body in Cipher's chamber. "I think some people will guess that. I don't know if it's guessable that they are actually the same person, that this guy is just some guy. He is basically just a body that [Godolkin's] tried on."

Saw that coming like three episodes ago. Scooby Doo has more complex plots and situations.

So when Cipher was smacking the shite out of the old man, was that supposed to be his few minutes of freedom or something?

I hope they keep these characters out of the final season of the Boys other than very minor roles.

I don’t know, that was weird. I agree with other poster, keep these folks out of the Boys. But doesn’t look like that’s the plan.
Overall I thought this season of Gen V was awful. Finale was dumb. Just seems like, hey let’s do a Betty and Veronica version of the Boys but make it diverse, tons of teen angst and weird teen romance drama, and gross just for the sake of being gross.

Haven't watched the finale yet, but I'm willing to cut them some slack due to one of the lead actors dying between seasons. I'm sure that threw a decent sized wrench into their original plans.

I really enjoyed the last few episodes after hating the start of the season. Looking forward to the final season. Wish one of the group had got got though to up the stakes a bit. For so many deaths in these shows, most of the supes are protected like marvel characters like now which is lame.
