I'm just trying to watch a fricking tv show, I don't wanna have the tv show/movie push it's politics on me, and I certainly don't wanna hear some random idiot on the internets politics when I'm trying to discuss the show.

You already post on the PT board. Why would it be so hard to post on that board when you want to bitch about how someone associated with a production made a comment you disagrees with on some internet "news" site?
I want to talk about how Ivan Ooze is an underrated villain with the Power Rangers. What i don't want is the thread to go off the rails because someone post that the actor who played Ivan Ooze once said an in interview about how he feels his character was partially inspired by Ronald Regan. Because that fact has zero effect on my ability to enjoy the character or the Power Rangers movie and never even entered my 8 year old brain at the time. But now I'm having to slog through 2 pages of people going back and forth about Regan's economic policies instead of talking about Americans dubbing over an old Japanese show in bright costumes.

Yep. Proximo admitted it above without realizing it. They are desperate for our negative attention. Like children. Now they are throwing tantrums because they’re being directed to discuss politics in the proper forum that Chicken has provided them.
Reason and logic won’t sway them.

Politics are part of art. Art has been used for hundreds of years to express opinions and present a message. As MTV are expressions of art, we should be able to discuss the underlying messages and their merits or lack thereof as MTV fans, not as political commentators. The MTV board is the correct place to discuss this, and if it gets out of control it should be moderated instead of just banned by rule

That only applies to some of the people upset here. Some of these discussions are pretty much just politics, and those should be on PT. But when it’s directly related to the show or movie, it should be allowed

Next we’re not gonna be allowed to discuss the restaurants on the Food and drink board, only the food they make. Or LSU fans can’t go on the MSB because LSU has tRant. Or we can’t discuss stocks on the money board, only exchange of currency

Why in the world do LSU fans need to start LSU threads on MSB? I could see the SEC rant because at least that somewhat makes sense, but not the MSB.

The people opposing this already post there. But they know here they have a captive audience they can spout their garbage at even if they don't want it see it.
And again, it's not like people who bring politics into it are trying to have an actual discussion. They are just posting buzzwords then acting like they just owned everyone. PT has the exact same problem as the SECr: too many signed up just to post on those boards and only those boards. It's okay as an isolation chamber, but for long-term posters who simply want to talk about things, it's useless now.
