assuming he's dead. Could be another cliff hanger just like last episode and the family was just getting to see him. The monitor behind him appeared to be flat lined though.
Ive seen enough medical dramas to know that if a patient is on an ecmo then he wont have anything to show on a heart monitor because his heart is effectively turned off. So maybe he isnt dead (even though he kinda is) and they are just crying because he's in the state he's in.
Andy Garcia should be a fun addition. Basically going to play a drug dealing Terry Benedict and im here for it.
Loved the scene with the two lawyers and BBT. You can tell Rebecca at one point knows she's in over her head even though she really wants to try. Kinda like where they are going with that.

Why?
They’re just people. They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like you or I do.

Now, the whorish daughter turns out to claim she was a virgin before the 35 year old high school qb hit it.
While I think this story line is idiotic. I think she was talking about actually spending the night not just having sex with her "love".

I really enjoy the show a lot more when I realized it’s a comedy and I don’t take it seriously
Don’t get me started about all the mess ups with the medical situation and how John Ham just dies alone with no help And he’s not in ICU like a guy would be right after bypass
Mexican chick is HOF
Still weird to talk to your mom about having your boyfriend do butt stuff with you. I didn’t know many 17-year-old that wore lingerie and did that kind of stuff. Why can’t they just make her 18 so it’s not as creepy
Also, I love BBT, but some of his lines are so ridiculous and the way he talks to people.
His head would be on a pole if spoke talk to a cartel boss like that or even his lieutenant.

I get all that but my god are some of these storylines boring and have no direction.
The old folks home stuff, QB and daughter, his son and the widow, etc. over the past few episodes just provide nothing
I don't disagree. The show is great fun but some of those plot lines could use a bit of sharpening. On the other hand, the show is trying to focus on the oil business and i think the wife and daughter's BS'ing around is only to make it a bit multi-dimensional, a couple laughs, plus show the varied demands on a guy like Tommy Norris.
Monty trusts him completely but is still always talking to him like a dog, and every time he beckons Tommy has to drive five hours to Fort Worth*, His wife is on his arse and his daughter is taking pole from more than one place. His son might be a f**up and is sleeping with the widow of his employee. The drug cartel psychos are trying to kill him. He's living with roommates and family that dont' really get along.
And then he gets to go to work and solve real problems. Like how are we going to fix 27 rigs today and make oil come out of the ground using ex-convict labor.
*You notice Monty always jets to Midland, while Tommy always drives 5 hours. In reality a guy of Tommy' stature would probably fly at least commercial into DFW or likely private into Lake Worth. A guy of his value is not to be wasted driving five hours. But it's a plot device designed to show you how TOmmy is put upon and treated like a dog despite his value.

Pointed this out a while back. The daughter arrived in Midland on a M-Tex jet with some engineers while the boss has to drive to Fort Worth seemingly multiple times a week. Ridiculous, but good for product placement.
Everyone living in the same house is a plot device that while unrealistic, allows the interactions we get like Dale fricking with the boyfriend.

She let another guy move in with her a few days/weeks after her husband died in an unexpected accident.
Not saying she is…but the case could be made.

You can thank Harvey Weinstein for depriving everyone of Billy Bob's true talent, which is writing and directing.
After his experience working with Miramax on All The Pretty Horses and Weinstein basically gutting and quartering what everyone said was a masterpiece, then Billy Bob pretty much lost all interest in dealing with studios and executives at that level ever again and then started doing more and more commercial acting gigs for the money.
Robert Duvall once called Thornton the "Hillbilly Orson Welles" he thought so much of his writing and directing skills, while also being a great actor.
Hollywood chewed up BBT's best talents and forced him to essentially mail it in (by this standards) for the rest of his career and go play music when he wasnt on set.
What a shame.
Well yeah...It's Billy Bob Thornton, not Billy Bob Thorntonburgstein.

Reminds me of Justified where Raylan Givens drives from Louisville to Hazard (4+ hours) at the drop of a hat or Longmire when Walt drives from Absaroka (in northern wyoming) to Denver or Phoenix like it's down to CVS.

I would've had much stronger words for my son about misdirected emotions and such. It's fun for the show but in real life moving in on a widow like that is a terrible idea for so many reasons.

or The Office when they drive from Scranton to NYC or Upstate NY and back like it’s the other side of town.

Heck, seems like Raylan would make that drive sometimes 3-4 times a day.

I’ve caught myself the last couple days talking like that cheesy Mexican boss Tommy dealt with the whole season.
