So is the series done? No more seasons?

I understand why Disney did it, but there's a part of me that thinks that in hindsight, the dumbest thing they ever did was set the sequels 30 years after the original trilogy.
Nothing matters because we know where everyone ends up. The only question is how they get there.

Idk you can still have stories and conclusions even if you know people are gonna survive.
We knew Andor was gonna survive Andor due to Rogue One being released first and it didnt hurt the story at all.
Same with Red Dead Redemption 2 being a prequel to Red Dead 1.

Fantastic title! Where did they dream that one up?
Imagineers working over time, no doubt!

I am excited
I love the Mandalorian. When it came out I think it was one of the best live action SW offering since the OT.

I'll treat like an episode of the series. Happy to watch, but low expectations.

Here’s the KEY difference though.
Red Dead Redemption 1 was awesome.
Rogue One was sorta awesome.
The sequel trilogy sucked balls.

but the prequel trilogies have nothing to do with Andor/Rogue One....
They really have nothing to do with Mandalorian either.

You’re arguing a different point though. The Prequels lead to the OT.
The OT is good.
The current content leads to the Sequel Trilogy.
The ST is bad. Very very bad.

I wouldn't say that.
It just occurs before it.
This isn't like the prequel trilogy building up Anakin for the Vader reveal.
Mando doesn't even appear in the sequel trilogy

The 3rd season was about cloning. The Imperial Remnant is trying to kidnap baby Yoda to get his DNA. Season 3 had Hux’s dad and praetorian guards in first order armor.
Did we watch the same show?

They destroyed the clones though.
Are there force sensitive clones in the sequel trilogy? I don't remember that. (I never finished episode 9)
It just felt like they were introducing more imposing bad guys like every episodic show does.
Obviously they are trying to get Grogu's DNA but that is just a reason for them to be pursuing him.
Hux's dad was a cool easter egg.

I’m not trying to be a dick. Just curious as to your train of thought here.
Your argument is that the Mandalorian doesn’t make progress toward the sequel trilogy?
A trilogy you admit you didn’t finish?
Force-sensitive clones was the ENTIRE point of the story. (The sequel trilogy)
The main character was born from one. The main bad guy was one.
The reason to get grogu is to use his DNA in making a body for Palpatine’s soul.

No, I'm saying the story is independent.

Well we agree there.
I think the bigger issue is that the background of the sequel trilogy- what they had to retcon to make it make any sort of sense- is so terrible, it kinda makes everything set in that era suck.
It’s not an issue of the Mandalorian being a direct prequel story wise. Though they did add elements to “legitimize” that garbage. It’s more the sand box that the ST left Star Wars post ROTJ to play in.
It would be like if you knew the ending to game of thrones in advance. Would the early seasons have any intrigue knowing how it just falls flat? Doesn’t make those seasons not good. But definitely lessens your ability to look forward to the story concluding.

Yeah that makes sense. Id like to see more in the high republic era.

This is getting a theatrical release? Dear God that's awful.. It looks like their typical D+ series crap. Why would anyone spend $$ seeing that in a theater?

If they really had balls, they make this movie open up a time portal that completely re-writes the sequel trilogy like it never happened. Clean slate and then go from there.

Wow that looks bad. Way too much Grogu. Nothing seems very compelling
